Long Live Rock & Roll
Long Live Rock & Roll! It was the biggest factor in bringing Lucas Hendrix to life. I started off in a different group with Lucas a college verse called SoCal. It was his home for quiet awhile. Music has always played a big role in my life, so I wanted my character to have something to do with music and that’s when I had him have a major in Music as well as a small band in College, a band that was still trying to make a name for themselves. That’s how the band name Broken Republic came along, I still don’t know why it chose the name, but I was always thought that we’re all bit broken trying to find their own path in life. Also, the face or playby started with Andre Hamann, a face I used for Lucas for over 3 years before I felt that he needed a face lift a change and I went through so many faces with Lucas, I’ve lost count. It wasn’t until I found Trevor Wentworth and his face and even his son seemed to fit Lucas perfectly. Almost too perfectly and since then I haven’t been wanting to change his face, event though I’m honestly the type to change playbys like water.
Originally, I also had Lucas as the lead singer, guitarist, but after coming to Vanity Fair I thought, being the drummer and every now and then a lead singer seemed to even fit the character that much better and that’s why I choose for him to be the drummer while the person playing Noah North, Lucas’s brother was the lead guitarist and singer. Everything just seemed to fall into place once I found the perfect playby for Lucas. It honestly seemed to have sparked my muse a lot more. Lastly, I also wanted to visit London and it just seemed like the perfect fit for Lucas to be from London, however in SoCal I did have him move from London to California but coming to Vanity Fair I quickly changed it to him never leaving London. Instead I had him want to stay in London to stay close to his brother to make a name from themselves with their band. Honestly, I’ve never had this kind of muse when it came to this character not since back when SoCal was still around. It’s great to bring back a character I love wholeheartedly.
