ANDRES HOOK ⟶ FAMILY AESTHETIC 001 ↳ jakob ‘james’ hook, amaya fallas // andres leandro hook
if you asked his father, jakob hook. the JAMES hook, captain hook. he would say there wasn’t a thing in the world that was important anymore. maybe he would say that there was something important at the bottom of a barrel. of rum that is. if he didn’t find it under the first he could always find it under the second. his father hadn’t been a captain for years. whatever bravado and generally piracy was simply reminiscing and opening old wounds. most of his pirates were just as bad off as him. some had found their way away from the maelstrom that seemed to linger and pull the previously NOTORIOUS captain hook in.
good. let him drown.
if you asked his mother, amaya fallas, what was important. she could provide a list. starting with loyalty to your blood. ending with never squandering talent. his mother who was his first full memory. her hand lifting his chin and making him look at his passed out father. her words accented as she leaned in close. “this is what you will not be.” she said, not like a hope and more like a threat. her nail under his chin like a knife. maybe it was a knife. when she said loyalty to blood, she meant loyalty to her. but even more importantly, loyalty to her ideals. their purpose in life. pirates took what they wanted. lived a free life. were curse to those that were their enemies.
his mother whispered of how women were a ‘curse’ to have on a ship. she would show the world what a curse meant.
andres would say that the only thing that mattered, was whatever he wanted to matter. he learned young that some legends didn’t live up to what the world made them out to be. that other legends were never whispered of but they were feared. his blood was and is a scourge. he’s just along for the ride.
