Eli’s Chenuh has a funny accent - flawed, inelegant - maybe that’s why Tasvi doesn’t mind it so much, it reminds her of herself: her own clumsy attempts at piloting, the whispers behind her back.
There is a box wrapped in a bright red handkerchief resting over Eli’s knees, and Tasvi’s poorly hidden curiosity makes him smile.
“I made too much,” Eli slowly slides the box over so it rests between them, “You gotta help me finish it, okay?”
