have not updated on this in a while but a note re: tawfeek and his family in gaza:

i haven't heard from tawfeek since november 2, 2025, but he has previously gone multiple months without access to the internet so it's possible that i will still be able to get donations to him. if it becomes clear that i will not be able to get them to him, i will redirect them to another palestinian family. fundraiser here, explanation regarding the fundraiser here.

hi all, time for your friendly neighborhood fundraising accountability post! it's been a while since he had internet access, but today tawfeek was able to contact me again and request funds. thanks to your generosity I will be able to send him about $400, plus an additional $100 from my own funds. I will post again when I am able to send the money. between the 1-business-day delay on spotfund and the 1-week waiting period on the crypto platform we are using, it will probably take until next monday or tuesday to send the funds.

funding accountability post for tawfeek's fundraiser: unless there are more donations today, the amount disbursed to my account should be $333.87. as before I will add $50 of my own to this amount when I purchase the USDT, which I will transfer to tawfeek's account after a 7-day waiting period required by the service. a small fee will be removed during both the purchase and the transfer.

very good news—we were able to get the first chunk of fundraiser money to tawfeek! after fees it came to about 902 USDT. now he will be able to fix his family's tent after the flooding.
