Dr. Hannah Carson
(My camera now blurries parts of the photo and still doesn't want to take nice photos of my drawings. And fuck you, Tumblr, you don't know how difficult it was to post. Aaaahhhh!)
The Carson Twins' upbringing before the orphanage.
Their mother was abusive, physically and emotionally. Their father tried to protect them when their mother was in one of her "moods", making her focus her rage on him than his girls; but he could only do that when he was in the house. If his wife's violence came hours before he could return home from work and his girls were alone with her, there was nothing he could do.
Hannah's words of "please don't hurt me" and "I'll be good" is what she said to her mother when she got violent, now repeating those same words to The Prototype.
The twins were seven when they heard their parents arguing and items in the house breaking. Their mother's shouts were louder than normal, so they crawled into their hiding spot, being able to watch what happened.
Their mother took a knife and attacked their father in a fit of rage, blood spraying her face, the floor, his chest, the couch. There was so much red. Then she realized what she had done and immediately shouted for the twins as she ran to wash off the blood from her arms.
The girls didn't wait to find out what she wanted from them, they escaped the house and banged on the door of a neighbor, alarming them on what happened.
Their mother was arrested, their father buried and them placed in an orphanage.
They became violent towards the other children, a result of seeing only violence and having no one to counsel them. They were grieving, they were frustrated and furious, they were lost and unwanted.
Taylor tried to escape the violence as she grew and focused her energy into becoming a person who wasn't like her mother. But Hannah stayed in the violence. Taylor lectured her many times on how wrong her actions were, leading her being secretive about it.
They aged out of the orphanage, no one wanted children who saw death. They went to school for degrees on medicine, Taylor wanted to heal the minds of children who were like her and Hannah wanted to save people from death.
They found themselves at Playtime Co and entered their execution. Hannah was given the offer by one of the higher-ups and mindlessly took it, causing her violence to grow by the world she walked into.
After years of living as a toy, Hannah finally woke up. Stories from children who suffered the same pain as her before they entered Playtime. Their retellings of their past, their pain, the mental scars they are forced to carry; she realized she is worse than her mother.
She can't remember why she agreed, why was she okay doing this to innocent children. She was an orphan too, what made her any different than them? How were they beneath her? They were children! How could she allow herself to become worse than her father's murderer?! And make children be her victims?!
... How could she allow herself to do that to them?
(Taylor died still believing in her sister)
If Taylor was placed in the toy body like planned and Hannah was killed, she would have a frenemy type of relationship with Prototype.
So many people were killed because of him, he turned her into a toy, he became a tyrant and continued the cruelty the children tried to escape from. Though despite that anger towards him, she still would get along with him, you could see her sitting on his arm while he's passing by, talking about whatever is on their mind.
However, I think in the beginning years when Prototype was in sour moods or frustrated by things out of his control, he would hurt Taylor if she unfortunately crossed his path. Of course not like he has done to Hannah, but it was still awful, and it was because Taylor is Hannah's sister, acting as a proxy to Hannah's crimes.
But when Taylor understands this reasoning, she would tell him off. "I'm not my sister. Don't push what she has done to everyone on to me. I didn't help in your Hour of Joy to be disrespected like this."
Also, because Taylor was a counselor she would still use her skills for the children's benefit and health, and make attempts to untangle Prototype's mind to see his perspective and hopefully get him to see the others'. But he would refuse each time.
Hannah often fears what she experiences is what Taylor would have experienced if Taylor was the toy and not her. Taylor would be hurt because she would be treated as Hannah's proxy, but it would only be in the beginning years and not ten years. Taylor's experiences wouldn't be the same as Hannah's.
The Carson Twins are three years older than Aaron.
Just yapping about an art detail in the "Dr. Hannah Carson" post.
Notice that Taylor and Prototype are in the same bended over pose, having the same wide grin and, when addressing Hannah, uses the same color.
They're even lined up with each other.
When the twins applied to Playtime, it was as a counselor and doctor. Taylor was located in Playcare, but didn't know where her sister was located. She asked her about it when they met up and Hannah explained she's in a infirmary deep inside the factory for the workers of the production center.
Because those workers are surrounded by dangerous machines and have a high risk for accidents, they need on-site doctors and nurses to be ready to treat the workers right away once an accident happens. However, the location is kept a secret to avoid people distracting the doctors from their work, they need to be ready at all times.
The first few times Taylor saw her sister after days or weeks without speaking to each other, she questioned it and got explanations like "a worker needed an around-the-clock care after an incident," "we were short staffed during an accident," "I was too concerned for a worker and couldn't leave their side."
Taylor believed Hannah's words on her job demanding her full attention and that there was a infirmary somewhere in the factory for the staff.
“ What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. ”
