TAYLOR, MI – On Friday November 16th, 2018, at 6:50PM, a trooper from the Metro South Post was on patrol on northbound Telegraph Rd near Eureka Rd.

The trooper was driving in the right center lane when her patrol car was sideswiped resulting in minor damage.

Just Announced: Vacant Southland Mervyn's set to be demolished; 12 screen theater to be built

This morning the owner of Southland Center announced the long vacant Mervyn’s anchor is set to be demolished and in its place will be a built a brand new 12 screen Cinemark Theater (opening by fall 2015). This announcement is coming just days after MJR revealed they will be renovating and occupying the vacant 10 screen Star Theater across the street in Burlington Square.

Both new theaters are expected to be more on the luxury side and will feature over stuffed leather recliners in every auditorium. The MJR “Grand Taylor Experience” will also feature a bar in the lobby.

Additionally, Southland will see complete interior renovation and the addition of a new children’s play area.

Just think of all the present day things near this intersection that people back then wouldn’t have been able to even fathom. A shopping mall, I-75, which can have you all the way to Florida within 24 hours, fast food restaurants. Mankind has progressed so far within 100 years.
