At some point, during your impromptu movie night with Bucky and Thor, you’d fallen asleep. Whether it was the extreme closeness of their massive bodies to your own, or the overall safe feeling they radiated around you like a force field, you weren’t sure, but you definitely didn’t mind. All of the blankets and pillows were still laid out, the mix of their colognes swirling around you in a delicious cloud. One particularly large, fluffy blanket was tucked underneath your sides, wrapped around you like a cocoon. You were so comfortable that moving from this spot seemed like the absolute worst idea.
Half expecting to open your eyes and see a beautiful man on each side of you, both spots were disappointingly vacant. Better off, you thought, wiping dried drool from your cheek, feeling the embedded lines from your pillows on your chin. I don’t even want to know what I look like right now…
Pushing yourself up with your hands, you stretched long and wide, letting out the loudest, most obnoxious yawn possible. You shivered, as the cold air from the cracked window adjacent creeped up your pajama shorts.
“Fuck!” you cried, grabbing the blanket that had just cased you like a sausage and wrapped it around yourself tight again. You inhaled the scent that wafted from it, the smell reminding you of Thor the most; earthy, with a hint of spice. As you began walking down the hallway that led to the kitchen, you started picking up different kinds of smells. The best being the freshly brewed coffee that someone had just made, followed by the scent of crispy, smoked bacon. The last was the smell that reminded you so much of Bucky; undertones of vanilla, with a sandalwood dusting. Rough, yet sweet. Your mouth was watering, and you weren’t sure if it was from the amazing smells, or from the memories of the bed you shared last night, with two of the most gorgeous men you’d ever seen.
And then you stopped, right in the hallway, dead in your tracks.
You shared a bed last night, with Thor and Bucky. You slept beside them, close to them. Intimately. Your heart began to hammer in your chest. What if things were weird now? You lived with them.
Don’t be a pussy about this, you thought to yourself, clenching your fists. If they didn’t want to fucking cuddle with you, they would have never done so. You didn’t force them.
Them.
The word hung in the air around you. It was never just Bucky or Thor for you. Your heart always wanted both, unable to choose between them, and it made you feel so greedy.
Finally, after taking several deep breaths, you managed to finish your walk into the kitchen, wrapping the blanket around you tighter for emotional support.
Bucky was sitting on the middle stool, leaning on the island in the center of the room, his thumb scrolling over the screen of his cell phone. His deep, chestnut hair was mussed all over the top of his head, like a rooster. It made you giggle audibly, and his head turned quickly at the sound. His face erupted into an ear splitting smile, the soft crinkles by his eyes appearing. With eyes of the deepest blue, he looked at you, and your world stopped.
“Good morning, doll,” he said, wrapping his arms around your waist, pulling you close. He kissed you softly on the cheek, his thick scruff just brushing your cheek, sending chills down your spine.
“Hi,” you murmured awkwardly, your brain turning to mush every time his pet name for you slipped between those perfect lips. You cleared your throat. “How did you sleep?”
You were starting to get warm in the kitchen, so you folded Thor’s blanket onto one of the vacant stools and walked to the cabinet where the mugs are stored.
“Better than I ever have before,” he replied. His voice was deep, still coated with sleep. Even with your back turned, you could feel his eyes on you. “And you?”
Grabbing a mug, you filled it with coffee halfway. After adding some sugar and creamer into the dark liquid, you grabbed a spoon and sat next to Bucky. That’s when you noticed the plate of bacon sitting on the island.
“LIke a rock,” you answered him, stirring your coffee and taking a sip. The bacon was right under your nose now, and it smelled even better up close. “May I?”
“Of course,” Bucky answered, pushing the plate towards you. “I made this for you. I figured you’d be starving, and I know how much you love bacon.”
Your heart caught in your chest. A man who knows your favorite food is always a keeper. A silence fell over you both, as you shoved pieces of bacon in your face. Bucky’s sudden turn towards you made you jump, but he didn’t notice. He was intent on something.
“Hey, listen,” he said, quickly, grabbing your hand. You stopped chewing and your entire body went rigid, paying as close attention to him as possible. You bit your lip. “If me or Thor went too far last night, please let me know. We were worried we may have gotten a bit too… comfortable.”
The fact that he was even asking you made your heart swell three sizes larger that day.
“No!” you almost shouted, immediately embarrassed. “I mean, no. It was… great.”
“Yeah?” he asked, his eyes lighting up.
“Yeah…. I mean, I felt so safe. It was totally pure, and I felt that.”
“O-okay, cool,” he stammered, carding his fingers through his hair. A nervous tick. He was smiling so wide, looking down at his hands. “Great.”
You suddenly felt brave, your heart acting out before your brain could advise against it. You grabbed his hand, wrapping your fingers in his like the night before.
“I like this,” you whispered, resting your chin on his shoulder. “All of this.”
“So do we,” Bucky said softly, his head leaning back to boop yours, just to feel the connection.
“We?” you muttered into his skin.
“Yes of course, me and Thor.”
At the mention of his name, you remembered his wet, naked body from yesterday and you swallowed hard at the memory. You noticed his absence, half expecting his booming voice to fill the kitchen any moment.
“Where is he anyway?” you asked, popping another piece of bacon in your mouth.
“He ran to the store. When he gets back, you should talk to him.”
“I will,” you nodded, butterflies flapping their delicate wings in your stomach. “I’m gonna go take a shower.”
You got up from the stool and kissed Bucky on his cheek, letting your fingers graze along his shoulder as you walked away.
“Need any company?” he asked boldly, and you stopped to turn around. He had a cheeky smile on his face and, to be completely honest, you did want his company. But your brain was able to stop your heart this time, before you dove too deep.
“Not today,” you winked, giving him your cutest smile. “I’ll take a raincheck. Thanks for the bacon.”
You swallowed your lies, knowing full well you wanted him to join you in the shower, as you practically skipped to the bathroom. Before anything happened with Bucky, it was important that you talked to Thor first.
Fuck, you thought, holding onto the handle of the bathroom door. You’re falling for both of them...
Thor walked in from the store and saw Bucky sitting at the island in the kitchen. He put the bags of groceries on the counter, starting to put them away.
“Hey,” he greeted Bucky.
“Hey man.”
Thor walked down the opposite hall and heard the shower running.
“How’s she doing?” Thor asked his friend. “Was she okay about last night?”
“She was, surprisingly. She said she enjoyed it.”
Thor smiled. Bucky chuckled.
“Do you really think she’d be okay with… this?”
“I think she would,” Bucky answered with confidence. “You should see the way she looked at me this morning when I made her bacon.”
“I just want her to be comfortable. I don’t want her to feel awkward.”
“Look, Thor,” Bucky started, putting his hand on his friend’s shoulder. “She’s amazing, we both know this. You and I both fell in love with her basically the first day she moved in here. Talk to her, tell her how you feel. Once she hears both sides, she can make a decision for herself.”
“You’re right, brother,” Thor replied, fist bumping his best friend. “You’re always right.”
“But I must say,” Bucky said playfully. “I get the vibe she likes me more.”
“We’ll just see about that…” Thor answered, walking down the hallway towards your bedroom. He had noticed the shower wasn’t running anymore.
Knock, knock, knock.
You had just finished getting dressed, taking a brush to your hair, when someone knocked on your door.
“It’s just me,” Thor said through the wood, and your stomach tightened. “May I come in?”
“Of course,” you replied, as he opened the door.
He looked just as good as the last time you saw him, if not even better. His dirty blonde hair was perfectly styled to look messy, spiking every which way on the top of his head. His blue eyes were fixed on you so intently, it made you start to sweat. They were blue, just like Bucky’s, but where Bucky’s were a deep sapphire blue, Thor’s were icy; like the clearest spring in a fantasy world. He was smiling at you, and he reached out to take your hand.
“Hi,” he breathed, his massive chest rising and falling under his loose grey t-shirt. Every muscle could be seen underneath. You struggled to catch your breath in his presence.
“Hi,” you managed to squeak back, taking his hand and allowing him to squeeze it.
It was in this moment that you realized that he and Bucky were total polar opposites. Bucky was quieter, more sensitive yet still ruggishly handsome in every way. Thor was a force to be reckoned with; all muscle and brawn but with a soft inner core. And yet, they were both perfect. The two types you needed to balance you out; your ying and yang.
“Is it okay if we talk about last night?” Thor asked, your hand disappearing in his; his thumb brushing over your palms.
“Y-yes, of course,” you replied, feeling nervous. You always felt anxious around Thor, but it was mostly because you wanted him to jump your bones.
“Are you okay with what happened? Bucky and I don’t want to overstep any boundaries. We want you to be comfortable in your own home, and we will do anything to make you happy.”
Anything…
He and Bucky had been so open and honest with you since you moved in. They wouldn’t judge you and it was time for you to speak your truth.
“I’m more than okay with what happened,” you answered, looking down at your feet. Looking into his face was like looking into the sun. “I mean, literally nothing like that has ever happened to me before so it was… new. But totally enjoyable.”
“Would you like for it to happen again?”
You swallowed.
“Yes…”
Thor let go of your hand and let his palm find the small of your back, pulling you straight to him. Your bodies were touching now, his lips merely inches from your own. Your head was spinning. His fingers traced your cheek, cupping your chin, forcing you to look into his eyes.
“We can give you the world, my love,” he said, licking his bottom lip. It was so sinful, just his tongue peaking out of his mouth, that you would have ripped your clothes off for him right there if you didn’t have enough sense. “With merely your word of approval.”
You were drunk off of his aura, everything about him drew you in deeper. Hanging on his every word, your eyes glazed over as he leaned down and placed the softest kiss to your cheek. He had you hooked, line and sinker.
“S-so like a… relationship?”
“We can be whatever you want us to be. Bucky and I are okay with that, as long as we both can have you. As long as you’re happy.”
Both…
Thor saw your confusion on your face and began to rub your back.
“I know this a lot,” he said. “But we’re prepared for this. For everything. We’re mentally and, physically, committed to a polyamorous relationship. With you. But only if you’re ready.”
Thor said what Bucky was trying to say at breakfast, what they were both trying to say last night in their touches and affection. You had heard of polyamory before, but had never dabbled in it, nor really knew what it was all about.
“I…” you hesitated, and Thor held onto your words with baited breath, as if his world would be crushed if you rejected him. “Want to know more.”
He smiled, so wide; the toothiest most beautiful grin you’d ever seen.
“Come,” he said, taking your hand again and leading you out of the room. “Let’s go discuss the details with Bucky.”
Thor kissed the top of your hand and sent sparks throughout your entire body. He could still see your nervousness as you hesitated, your brain in overdrive.
“Please don’t worry,” he said. “We’re going to take very good care of you.”
