Trying to get a consistent look for him 👀💜
You know what would be insanely cool and also awesome? If everyone with Kindle Unlimited who sees this would go and read my book The Chronicles of Audawn, for FREE. Please? It's gay and there's dragon gods and magic and excessive amounts of herbal and verbal tea. All the other writers, add your books in the comments and reblogs so yours can get found too!

Happy Sunday!!!
I want to learn more about everyone’s WIPs, so what’s one part of yours that you’ve never gotten the chance to talk about? Scream away!
Happy Sunday! Thanks for the ask!!
I think I've actually talked about most of TSOP's stuff before - the conlang, board game, recipes, music, worldbuilding, etc - and that's my main thing, so.. not sure what to ramble about here unless anyone is interested in the Primordials, since that's probably the only thing I haven't explained?
I guess I'll use TCoA, since that's my second main(ish) project at the moment and I've had a ton of fun doing the worldbuilding and research for it. Ramble under Read More.
My Problem With Susan
I’ve been thinking about Narnia again and was thinking about the problem with Susan or her fate in the last book. The thing is, I really do like the idea C.S. Lewis was going for. The kind of prodigal son narrative where we see her eventually return to Narnia in her own time. And like, I get the personal connection to Lewis’s own relationship with religion... but I think it was poorly executed.
I just feel like Lewis wasn’t thinking about the implications of Susan experiencing her entire family dying and how that would affect her. The implications there just bother me too much for me to fully enjoy the narrative planned out. And just the seeming lack of care about what will happen to Susan by the other characters (if I’m wrong about this tell me, it’s been awhile since I’ve read the last book but I feel like they seemed a bit callous to leaving Susan behind and her believing they’re fully dead) made me uncomfortable. I want to like what Lewis was planning but I just can’t fully get past how horrible that part is.
Also, while I like the idea of her rediscovering her own connection to Aslan, it bothers me that she must seemingly do it alone, without her family. I feel like her rediscovering herself and who she truly wants to be would be more meaningful if she had her family by her side, or at least have the knowledge that her family is there. Making her do it alone seems unintentionally cruel. I just think’s Susan’s fate was an interesting idea, but a badly done one. (also it definitely doesn’t help that we’re given no implication about this in the books. Even just a casual mention of, “maybe she’ll find her way back one day” actually in the book would’ve been nice).
I made a fan OC! his name is freckles and he’s a small child who just wants to be seen as an adult :^(
(also I just realized the similarity between him and @hubbleablubble‘s boy mint and I just want them to spiderman point at each other)
heyyo, incoming WBW (I hope it's not too late this week)
Tell me about an aesthetic you have or really want to create a world based on.
Hey, thanks for the ask! Still just barely Wednesday for me at the time of seeing this (exactly 11:59pm-)
Ahhh, this is a hard one, because there are so many I’d love to write about. Whimsigothic, or more specifically a blue and gold version of it, has always been one of my favorite aesthetics. So, I'd love to write a story about a wizard or something based around that aesthetic. Alternatively, I saw a picture on Pinterest of an assassin nun and thought that was just.. somehow a very aesthetically pleasing image and I think it would make for a great character concept.
As for existing aesthetics… TSOP starts out very small medieval town cottagecore-y when Kei isn't doing assassin things. Undying has always been a sort of greyscale ruined/overgrown New York image in my mind because it's a modern dystopia, but I'm not sure exactly what that aesthetic would be. TCoA is very much aesthetically similar to a botanical garden with Greek / Roman sculptures in it (because of Athena (character, not goddess) mainly). Maybe a little orb on a pedestal under a tree somewhere (because of Unnamed Mágos Man) and a cobblestone path throughout the garden. Also not sure what this aesthetic would be called.
Not exactly specific aesthetics I guess(?), but those are the mental images / vibes I’ve always associated with those stories.
