I started the “Chronicles of Ancient Darkness” series when I was a kid and finally finished it almost 15 years later. It still stands up and I can’t wait to read “Viper’s Daughter” when it’s out in paperback!

Torak and Renn are about 14/15 in this pic, circa the last two books of Torak’s series.

reading the Viper’s Daughter and I find myself having to put the book down every few minutes to dig my head into my hands in glee 😭 Torak and Renn are so in love and it’s everything my 11 year old self ever wanted!!!!

completed my reread of the original 6 Chronicles of Ancient Darkness yesterday so tonight I get to start the Viper’s Daughter!!! soooo excited

I recently learned that Michelle Paver was in the process of writing and releasing three more books for this wonderful series, so I had to reread them. Unlike so many other YA books, The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness have withstood the test of time and I’m getting as much enjoyment out of them now as I did a child all those years ago ❤️ it’s a story set 6000 years ago during the Middle Stone Age and documents the story of a boy named Torak who has the ability to speak to wolves, as well as his wolf companion. Would highly recommend for an easy read: there are 8 books currently out with one more due for release in 2022.

just found out that Catherine Hardwicke was supposed to direct the TCOAD film adaption but ended up accepting the job of directing the first Twilight instead. hate it here
