Working on another short comic and really needed to hammer out some Aragorn designs, including some age differences. In the colored images, he’s about 22 vs his 90s.

Finished my sweater!
Finally got around to doodling a quick sketch from Marchwriter’s excellent Agarwaen fanfic. It’s got angst, budding friendships, angst, young Aragorn being the best, angst, and of course Haldir experiencing emotional and physical trials.

Last Aragorn pictured ended with him too white, so I had to correct that - I didn’t recognize him. My Aragorn has gone through lots of revisions over the years and I’m trying to bring him back to how I first faintly envisioned him as a kid when all I had was my Dad reading the stories during family time and the glorious shorts-wearing Bakshi’s film characters. One day I’ll get his nose right. Complementary Haldir as well, of course.
Working on a little ShieldWarden something this weekend and needed color refs. Haldir’s cloak has a base grey appearance, but changes based off the natural terrain, so I couldn’t include the full variety of colors quite yet.
As my girlfriend said - “Ah yes, the crackship self-indulgent art strikes again!” I swear I have a timeline in my head of how the 4th Age transitions into gear and how on earth (middle...earth ayy) my headcanons about Ithilien and Sauron-cults play out. This particular instance occurs when Eowyn must journey undercover from Ithilien to Edoras after her initial entourage is ambushed. Haldir performs his captain-duties well enough and manages to get them out of the ambush, but on the trepid back-woods and back-road journey to Edoras they stumble across several adventures. This adventure involves deciding to assist a village defend against an oncoming bandit raid.
Listened to the soundtrack to Clone Wars Season 7 during work and depressed myself. People I would die for is a list that has one name and that name is Ahsoka Tano.
I always liked the aaaangst inherent in movie-FotR where Aragorn is desperately convincing Haldir to let the Fellowship pass through Lorien.
Years ago I wrote a short fic about it, but that's been lost to time, so I may have to do a re-write. Or just draw a comic of the whole scene...
