I don't think I have OCD but this is unacceptable
I tried to make a jello rainbow today.... The cherry and raspberry boxes are two different colors but the dye's actually the same...so now my rainbow has a fatass stripe of red....
Rhiannon || Dante & Rachel
It wasn’t exactly her scene but it wasn’t a bad place to be either, Rachel decided as she walked further into the bar. Varnished wood made up the flooring, the long, narrow tables set out to in the middle of the room and bar countertop with dark bricks filling the walls between floor and roof. A chalkboard behind the bar listed the four premium, organic cocktails available for consumption, along with the beers on tap. Someone had meticulously picked out serene photographs of sprawling Nevada landscape to mount here and there on the wall, along with the mounted head of a mountain ram. The glassy eyes stared out in mild watchfulness at the sleepy post-holiday season crowd that was starting to coagulate together.
It was all very lumberjack chic and unforgivingly hipster, including the clientele but it was better than her tiny one-bedroom and all the reminders that she had no family to be with right then.That sting was one Rachel had been expecting but she hadn’t thought her friends would be so quick to forget about her once she’d changed out her white collar for a blue one. The most she had been able to pry out of her friends had been several one-line facebook messages wishing her a happy holiday and a slightly longer text message from her best friend (“Merry Christmas” and “have Happy New Year”). Suddenly Rachel had more of an understanding of why so many people chose the holiday season to succumb to self destruction.
The soft crooning of a familiar tune pulled Rachel’s attention away from the heaviness that threatened to roll over her mood and she searched out the vocalists with her eyes. The clock had just passed the eleventh mark and a pair of musicians were sitting in the corner crooning out a mix of their own original compositions with the occasional classic cover. It took no more than a heartbeat for the blonde to pick up on the words of this particular tune and her lips pulled into a smile.
“She is like a cat in the dark, and then she is the darkness,” Rachel mouthed along. Nothing soothed the soul quite like Fleetwood Mac could and the blonde shook off her hurt stubbornly. Her eyes drifted back over the crowd around them before she wandered over to the bar. The scent of spilt liquor, wet wood and muddled herbs hung lightly on the air, mixing with the sweet perfume of one of the women next to her and the lingering whisp of tar-smoke that clung to the man on her other side.
Exhaling in a soft huff through her nose, Rachel leaned slightly away from the source of the cigarette smell and looked down the bar to try and catch the bartender’s eye.
"Here's to 2015 being far more promising than 2014 ever was."
Didn't think it ever got this cold here.
"I will never, for the life of me, understand the obsession with going home for the holidays."
"I'd rather be anywhere else."
"I'm starting to think there are more cabs than people in this town."
"I'm going to pretend it's not a bad thing that I don't remember the last three days."
