Synopsis under the cut:
The Fedorov Bratva’s treasured heirloom, a painting by a Korean artist who was wrongly executed by the Japanese in the early 20th century, was stolen by the rival Vendelini Family. A Russian police officer, the artist’s former lover, brought the painting into the Fedorov household as a tribute to the woman he could not protect. Filled with guilt and anger, he left a warning: anyone who dares to steal it would pay the price and the family who fails to protect it would suffer the consequences of losing a loved one.
Three weeks later, in present-day New York, Borislav Fedorov, the current Pakhan of the bratva, pledges to recover it for the sake of the bratva and the family’s history. Meanwhile, Korean-American NYPD detectives Lisa and Jin Wook Foster are investigating a series of disappearances, including that of their sister, Hyun Mari. At each crime scene, they find chrysanthemum petals.
Fate brings Borislav and Lisa together in a dangerous pact that blurs the lines between crime and justice. As they work to recover the painting and rescue the victims, they must ask themselves: will their alliance destroy them, or will it rewrite a forbidden love story?
