Dot woke up early in the morning a time when little girls should still be sleeping. She was too excited too sleep anymore, she had spent the night a victors feeling comfortable in her new room that he had made her. She was still a little weary about staying with Shenzi but would soon come around. She rubbed her eyes with the back of her fists before going over to her drawers and pulling out a pair of skinny jeans and a tank to wear. The little girl slipped on her clothing and then moved out into the kitchen where she got some juice and cereal for herself. The only thing she ever liked to eat, everything else she refused. She was getting pretty good at making it too.
She turned on the little TV in the kitchen area and sat on the stool as she ate her breakfast. She wasn't sure where Papa was but she figured he was probably still fast asleep since it was only five in the morning. The foot was finished in the next half hour and so dot got up and moved to the sink putting her dishes inside before she went and grabbed her sweater off the back of the chair and then her red converse shoes. She wasn't sure what she was going to do but she wanted to just spend the day outside in the nice warm weather. The girl went outside and looked around before a grin spread over her lips as her puppy, well a stray puppy but dot called it her own, flick came bounding toward her. "Flick!" She said reaching out and hugging the Great Danes neck. "I think we're going to have an adventure today!"
So that is when she decided to explore the circus and if she just so happened to run into a friend well that would be great. She grinned and let her feet carry her once again toward the tents in hopes to catch some of the acts in progress. She loved watching the acts, especially the acrobats. They were her favorite part of the circus. She wanted to be just like those that could 'fly'. She popped her head into a tent at random and smiled faintly when she saw a bearded lady in front of a large crowd. She giggled wildly at the sight before she felt a large hand on her shoulder. The child looked up slowly and her eyes widened at the towering bulky man above her. Security Gard! She let out a little squeak before pulling herself from the tent and darting toward the main area of the circus where tents met rides. She ran as fast as she could and glanced back only once. When she got to the middle, she stopped and bent over placing her hands on her knees, as she panted, trying to catch her breath but still a little laugh escaped her lips at the thrill of the whole thing. Once she felt she could breath easier the six year old stood up straight once again and ran her hands over her tank fixing it. "Well that was fun." She said her smile growing even more than it was. She glanced around her surroundings and giggled once again at the excitement that was rushing through her. She soon heard a dog bark off in the distance and she perked up toward the sound. "Flicka!" She called in the direction that the sound was heard. "Come here boy!"
She ran toward the dog as he came bounding toward her. A squeak escaped her lips and then it turned into a laugh as the male dog toppled into her when trying to stop. He still hadn't grown into his large paws and constantly tripped over himself. But Dot loved that about Flick. He was so goofy sometimes. She looked up at him as he stood over her and burst into a fit of laughter. "Flick get off." She said as he licked her face. "Stop it." She said pushing her hands against his chest and face. The dog finally obliged to her wishes, when he was happy with the amount of kisses he had given. She sat up and rolled her eyes giving the puppy a playful push away from her. "You're crazy." She said as she stood up and dusted her bottom off. She looked down at herself and then her head snapped up as people started leaving the tents. She bit her lip and looked around for a safe place to stay until the crowds were gone. But it was too late and the crowds enveloped her rather quickly. She grabbed onto Flicks collar and watched as people pushed past her, and some even nearly stepping on her. She was a tiny child and when it came to most adults, she was invisible. She was bopped in the head several times and yelled at for being in the way even more. Why were adults so rude.
It wasn't until she felt a hand on her arm pulling her to the edge that she felt relaxed again. As they moved through the crowd Dot kept a tight grip on Flicks collar making sure he stayed with her. She figured the person that had her was a friend, one of her parents or at least someone she knew well. When they finally got to the edge Dot looked at the person about to thank them but she froze. There in front of her, with her long brown hear, beady eyes, and wrinkled face, was the women she was trying to avoid for so long. She swallowed and looked around helplessly as the women gripped her arm tighter. Her eyes went straight to Flick though as the dog barked and then snarled at the women. "Shut up mutt!" Were the first words out of Clara's mouth. The dog didn't listen though and kept his snarling. The women glared at the dog and shoved her foot at him trying to kick him away. "Get lost!" Another command was thrown to Flick but this time Dot looked at him pleading him to go and find someone to help. Someone like Shenzi or Victor. She watched the dog give a whimper toward her before he bonded off. She wasn't able to see where he was going because in the next moment the women's other hand was on her shoulder and Dot was shaken a bit violently. "So this is where you've come you little brat!" Dot just sniffed and nodded her head slowly refusing to look at the women. Instead she looked down at her feet. Clara didn't like this though and Dot was shaken once again. "Look at me when I speak to you, you useless brat." Dot whimpered again and slowly rose her eyes to meet the other womens. "Good girl." She said as she watched a couple walk past them staring at them. Dot didn't dare look at the couple though she knew better.
"Now you know you've been a very bad little girl. What you did was very wrong Dot." The older women said her tone becoming a little softer now. It was only due to the people that were staring at her. Dot sniffed and nodded her head slowly looking at the women. "Y-yes m-ma'am." The child said softly and submissively. "Good girl. Now I want you to go and get your things and we are going home." C,ara said running a hand over her hair. "I've missed you little girl. And everyone has been very worried about you." Dot knew this was a lie, the women petting her hair never cared about her before so it made her curious as to why she cared now. She looked at the women and shook her head getting up the courage to stand up for herself. "N-no! I'm not going with you." She said her eyes squinting in a glare. "I-i'm s-staying here! You don't care ab-about me! You just Don't wanna get in trouble!" This did not please the women what so ever and she grit her teeth before a hand glided across her face. "Don't you ever talk to your mother like that ever again!" Clara said her voice was was like ice, sharp and pissed off. Dot touched her cheek and tears started forming in her eyes. The women wasn't the nicest person and Dot shouldn't have been so surprised at the slap.. She looked around once again before laying eyes on someone she recognized, with Flick at their side. She wanted to call out to them but she didn't want to get hit again. She looked at the helplessly before her arm was jerked in the direction of the adult. She winced at the pain that was felt in her arm and stroked the welt that was forming on her face as she stared, terrified, at the women before her. "Well since you want to play the hard way Savannah. We'll just leave all your precious belongs here and I'll take you back by force." Clara said before lifting dot up into her arms.
Dot shook her head and squirmed as she let out a small scream. "No! Let me go. Put me down! I don't wanna go with you!" She cried the tears finally bursting from her eyes. "I don't wanna go with you!" She screamed again as she kicked her feet. She looked in the direction of the person again begging them to come but everything was happening quickly as they moved that they were lost in the sea of people. "Be Quiet Dot." The women huffed. She then looked at a man who was looking sternly at her. "Oh you know children, they just don't wanna leave the circus." She said giving him a small smile before quickening her pace. Dot continued to squirm though and shook her head. "I don't wanna go! I wanna stay here with Momma and Papa!" She cried harder as she kicked her feet. "Please don't take me!" She said as they reached the women's SUV. She was quickly fastened into her car seat in the car and a stern look was placed on the elder's face. "These people aren't your family dot! They don't really care about you. You're just another runaway child." She said gripping onto the girls arm. "Now you're gonna be a good girl right? No more hissy fits?" She asked her nails slightly digging into Dots skin. The child looked out the window toward the circus and swallowed wondering why the person hadn't come to save her. She figured that the woman was right, that they didn't really care about her. That it was all a lie. She nodded her head and sniffed. "Y-yeah I'll be good." She whispered. Atta grinned and gave a small pat to Dot's head. "Great." She said before shutting the door and moving around the he drivers side. Dot looked out the window again searching for a familiar face to rush through the crowds as they drove off from the circus.
Dot woke up in the woods her body huddled against a tree her breathing rapid as she looked around at her surroundings. how did i end up here. the last thing she remembered was Shenzi tucking her in for the night. She hugged her legs tight as her ocean eyes glanced around the forest. She suddenly realized where she was and her heart started to beat fast and the blood rushed through her ears. The leaves had fallen and trees were bare, there was a light dusting of snow that covered the ground but was slowly melting away. The night air had drifted in and the full moon was high in the sky. In the distance voices could be heard. Mens voices to be exact. One was husky like her Hoppers, the other was a bit more high pitched and it cracked when he spoke about getting rid of them finally. They were coming closer. The sound of the crunching leaves beneath their feet were getting louder and louder as they approached. Dot shut her eyes tight and whimpered hoping that when she opened them again she would be back in her bed safe and sound.
When her eyes were revealed once more she wasn't back in shenzi's apartment. No. She was home. Her farm house that she lived on with her family. Dot let out a whimper as she stood in front of the house and stared at it. "Mummy!" She cried out before her feet darted into the house. She was going to save them. She had to save them. She ran past the living room and up the stairs to where the bedrooms were. She stopped at the top her heart beating rapidly. The hallway seemed longer than normal and the house was. . swaying. The smell of iron in the air consumed the girls nose and she felt sick to her stomach. "Momma." She whimpered before hurrying down the hall. She never seemed to reach the door at the end until there sirens began to blare outside of the house. Dots little hand grabbed the knob and pulled the heavy door open to something horrific.
There in front of her her mother lay on the bed her head covered by a blood saturated pillow. There was spattered blood cascaded on the wall above her and the floor below. Her hand was outreached toward the door and single droplets of blood dripped down from her finger tips. Dot swallowed and let out a small whimper, "Mama." She whispered taking a small step forward but before she could reach the women someone from behind her grabbed her by the waist. Dot let out an ear piercing scream. . .
Dot let out an ear piercing scream as she sat up in bed, her body drenched in sweat from head to toe. Her hair was matted back with the salty substance and her curls laid flat against her shoulder. Her blankets lay crumpled on the floor from her thrashing around in fright. It was darker than normal. Much darker. Her night light had gone out dots heart thumped in her chest once again much like the dream and she hurriedly scrambled out of bed. Suddenly nothing seemed familiar not her bed, not the things in the room. Her pupils were dilated making her eyes look almost all back as she backed away from the bed. Another small whimper escaped her lips before she turned and bolted from the room tripping over Steele as she scrambled away.
Dot eyes were filled with tears as she pulled the front door open as fast as she could letting it slam against the wall and raced from it leaving the door once again open. She scrambled down the apartment hallways and stairs only wearing her tangled night gown that was bought for her in a recent shopping trip. She had also managed to drop the horse stuffed animal that she never left without somewhere along the way. Dot flew through the front doors of the building refusing to stop as she ran down the path. She needed to find her home. She needed to save her mommy. She coughed as lungs began to burn from all the running but she couldn't stop. She couldn't. No matter how dark it was, and how little she could see, she needed to find home.
"MOMMY!" She called out as she finally decided to slow down and pay attention to where she was going. She coughed a few times having a hard time breathing from both the frantic pace she had been taking and the fact that she hadn't stopped crying. The tears only came harder the longer it was taking her to find home. "Momma." She cried again but this time it was much quieter. She rubbed her eyes and looked around the sobs still wracking her body. The she saw them. The woods. They always took her home. Dot took a few chocked deep breaths before hurrying into them. "I'm gonna save you this time momma!" She called to the air as she took her first steps toward the woods. She wasn't running anymore but her feet were still moving quickly, and in her frantic pace she hadn't even realized that her foot came down on a piece of glass, leaving blood footprints on the cement.
Small coughs continued to leave the girls mouth as she entered the woods in the circus. Her eyes looked around but she couldn't see anything and then that's when she heard it. The crunching of leaves beneath someone's feet. The same crunching leaves that were from that night. Dot let out a squeak and the tears were back again rolling down her cheeks. She quickly hurried over to a tree that was near the edge of the forest and curled herself up against it shutting her eyes tight. "Doooootttt. . ." She heard her name being called by the mans voice. By the one that sounded like her brother. "Dooot come out, come out where ever you are." He taunted her and she could hear the wicked smile dripping off his lips. They were back for her, they were going to murder her now to. Suddenly she was grabbed from the tree and pulled into who she thought was the murder's arms. Another scream came from her throat as she thrashed around and tried to push herself away. "LET ME GO!!" She cried.
Payton grabbed his wallet and keys as he moved out the door. He told Ad he was going out of town for a couple hours and he would be back before dinner. He moved out of the house and down to his car before leaning on it waiting for the girl to come and meet up with him.
Oswald was walking around in the rain, with his rainboots on and umbrella over his head. He saw a young woman standing out in the rain. Walking over to her, he put the umbrella over her head. “You shouldn’t be out here in this weather. Come with me, we can go back to my place until the rain stops. Why, I’ll even bake cookies and we can watch a movie.” They started walking back to his apartment where they made cookies and watched movies until eventually, the rain stopped and the sun came out. “Well it sure was nice meeting you, Atta. We should do something again real soon!”
Sinclair offered to take Atta around not only out of kindness, but also out of down boredom. She wasn't on shift for another six hours, so she had quite a bit of time to kill. And this kid seemed interesting and kind enough, so might as well show her around. "Let's go," Sinclair said aloud, walking towards the direction of the Teapot Tent. They would have to walk for about ten or fifteen minutes across the circus to get to it from current standing.
