The Demon Hunters Project (also searchable as a tag on my blog), is first and foremost a personal project that’s meant to be a love letter not only to myself and the growth and change I’ve gone through that’s made me, me, but also to the various games and films and stories that have influenced me growing up and even now into my adulthood.
The Demon Hunters Project (TDHP for short) is also a creative experiment - it is my personal sandbox for building a deeply intricate world and filling that world with characters influenced from the best and worst facets of myself, influenced from friends who have come and gone, and is a way to explore the philosophical thought experiments I have in a tangible, fun way without doing harm, unintentional or otherwise, onto myself or others. (It is an ethical way to explore the fucked up philosophy thoughts I have)
The story itself follows the journey of two Demon Hunters, Maelstrom and Switchblade, who get caught up in this insane inter dimensional war between the Tyrant Queen of the Underworld and the Mortal Plane that they live in. They undergo so much :) and I’m not gonna say much more on that bc spoilers
Its genre is a fantastic cocktail: Cyber-Western Gothic Horror, is what I like to call it. It also Carries comedy in the form of sarcasm and dark humor, slice of life elements, and filler that focuses on character growth and interpersonal relationships. In a way it is also me fixing all the gripes I have about corpo-capitalist media these days - trying to return the soul and passion to the art of narrative storytelling.
The motifs tackle things from philosophy, science, and ethics as well as things like love and agony, death and acceptance, devotion versus obsession, change within the self, change FOR the self, acceptance of the self, and so much more.
Also there’s a hot character for everyone gaybless 🙏😌
