Louise and Stella are exorcists, Louise actually being the head of the department while Stella is essentially her second in command. Bénédicte and Jeanne work for the archival branch. Paranormal archivists get less restrictions when it comes to dress code because they're usually stuck in an office going through records and artefacts for hours upon end.

Chioma is 19 years old and was supposed to be attending her first semester of medical school, but fate had other plans.

An old identity card that was preserved by an archivist.

It was said to be originally retrieved from the burnt rubble of a house in a very secluded area.

That house used to be the home of a mother and daughter and at first, everyone assumed both of them died in that fire. However, it was only the mother's corpse that was found. She was laid on the floor of the kitchen, holding a knife and a book. A book that was full of religious scripture instead of recipes.

Upon further examination, forensic pathologists found a laceration on her jugular that corresponded with the blade in her hand. The assumption was that she killed herself, due to the angle and shallowness of the wounds. Now the question is, did she also set the house on fire?

No evidence of accelerants were detected and no one witnessed the start of the fire due to how secluded the house was. Therefore, it could be due to negligence of the house's fireplace or kitchen stove. The only person present in that house was too busy bleeding to stop it, and the daughter was no where to be found.

Prior to the fire, there had been reports of the daughter's mysterious disappearance. To this day, detectives still haven't found her. All they know is, one day she vanished and 3 months later, the house fire happened.

So perhaps it is just a tragic story of a mother being so consumed by grief she couldn't bare to live anymore. Or maybe it's something else? During the investigation, an 18 year old girl, who was identified as a former classmate and close friend of the missing daughter, claimed to have seen her ghost at night.

Seeing ghosts is a very common occurrence among mourning friends and families of the dead. Unfortunately, apparitions are not measurable evidence and there are so many aspects of this case that lead to nothing due to how improbable the circumstances were.

So the detectives ruled it as a suicide and the disappearance of the daughter was relegated to a cold case until more tangible evidence could be found.

I understand what you mean but People want you to explain your system so they can understand your universe and characters, get a feel for the world. You don’t owe them anything of course, but the attitude youve shown is off putting. It makes people not want to engage with your work, unfortunately myself included. again, it’s fine if you don’t have answers, but condescension gets you no where

This is Stella (30 yrs) and Camille (27 yrs), they're both exorcists/clerics who work for the city's local "Bureau of Parapsychological Assistance".

As you can imagine, their work consists of un-haunting houses and un-possessing innocent individuals. They also (ethically) track down out of control witches. Think of them like very organised mercenaries without weapons.

Adanna is also intersex. When she was younger she had a delayed puberty and when it finally arrived she ended up having a bit more estrogen than the average teenage boy. She looked super androgynous in highschool.

The funny thing is, even though she had always been dysphoric, she didn’t see this as a reward. It was actually super scary and she would try to boymod harder in order to fit in. Being read as more queer than usual was a terrifying concept. Her parents then put her through hormonal therapy for a few years.

It wasn’t until she was 17-18 that she fully realised “Wait I hate this?” and started feminising herself in secret. 🤫

Her transition was not linear at all, it was like a rollercoaster. It was chaotic and messy and she ignored all the signs for her own “peace of mind” until she couldn’t anymore. However, it was worth it in the end because she’s a cutie now! 💖
