For liag, i can't wait to see what happens in the next chapter. I wonder what the jeons kingdom is like since the mc has never seen it for herself and what events may start to unfold. I also love jungkooks characterization right now very mysterious and the meaning of the necklace!! Like he had said it belongs in the jeon family yet he gave it to her...so im like is he courting her? Also, if they did get married who would be the next in line for whichever kingdom the other leaves unless they merge kingdoms...?
For tdmoe, the world building is so amazing it just makes me want to learn more about the culture / history as how this tribe has come to have these ideals, etc. Although, i did have a question about the blood on their heads, everyone kept telling the mc not to touch it like does it eventually wash off? is there a time limit to keep it on? And did jungkook still have the blood on his head?

LIAG; to be fair, MC isn’t the only one who hasn’t seen the Jeon Kingdom, most people haven’t been there (might I add, for a reason 🫣), ha, I can confirm it is going to be interesting.
MC will have a whiplash of how different both Kingdoms are, we can tell as much by comparing both rulers or even JK and MC. Here's a lil snippet:
After 12 hours of traveling, you finally neared his palace. But the closer you get, the more uncomfortable you feel; not a soul is present in the streets, mountains casting dark shadows over the roads.
Felix sits glued to the window, for him, everything is just as new as it is to you. Although it is late, the vacant streets make you feel unwelcomed; memories of how other countries awaited you in the middle of the night, even just to see a glimpse of your face.
Uuu, the necklace!! Ima just say that it plays a significant role, ahem, khm, a bit hard to name it ‘courting’, but we’ll see the reasoning behind it in the next chapter
Hard to comment about marriage, as MC has very noticeably drawn boundaries between her and JK; she’s not interested in him romantically. This is a heavy subject, MC’s Kingdom is very cold to JK’s, it took years for them to even be okay with him. They fought a war with them for years, so many lives were lost, so a sudden marriage between both would definitely cause a backlash from her people (especially the older generation, wouldn’t be surprise if the younger generation were to idolise them into the ‘perfect love story’).
Also, MC’s father was very clear saying he wants MC as far away from JK, so he’d def disapprove of the marriage. In his eyes it would be a betrayal towards him and their Kingdom, so if MC were to go through with it, she’d have to abdicate the throne 🤷🏼♀️
TDMOE; yep, JK didn’t wash off the mark! For him it holds more significance than for MC, so in his eyes he’d be disrespecting her if he was to wash it off (that goes both ways, but if MC was to wash it off, he’d choose to believe she simply doesn’t know the meaning behind it or that it was accidental).
There’s not really a time frame for how long it’s supposed to be kept, but especially men are very proud to wear it if that makes sense, so they’d keep it for as long as possible

I’m curious about The Deepest Marks of Essence JK, why do the members of his tribe hate the outsiders so much + their purpose in killing? And if MC didn’t grab his hand in that moment, would he have killed her too or was that the defining moment that turned the tides? You have no idea how much I am fangirling over this story 😭 it literally has all my favourite components of horror, romance and yandere all in one beautiful package 🩷

The hand grabbing thing was important, but not necessarily ‘what turned the tides’; when MC first saw them, she was yelling, flailing her arms around, etc - all very aggressive movements.
When she grabbed his hand, she sort of ‘humanised’ herself in that moment. She kept asking for help (which we now know JK understood), that also sort of awakened the ‘tribe leader’ caring side in him - need to protect and care for.
I’d say he also saw a part of himself in MC that kind of piqued his interest; the way she kept insisting to help Tae, while she was injured herself - something he’d relate to himself as the ‘leader’
But that scene wasn’t as important as the whole ‘drink’ thing, as JK used that as sort of a test to see her (and Taes) truest intentions. But, uhm, heh, we know that also didn’t go as planned 😅
About their reasons of disliking outsiders + purpose of killing 😗 I’ll hold on to these questions, you might see some answers in the next part 👀

Hmm, in this sort of a situation we’d have to look at multiple elements;
Technically, there has always been a way out, only problem are the traps - now, how many of them are there? Is there a way to go around them? Are they brave enough to risk it again?
Well, MC falling pregnant could happen, as we know there’s not a lot of options for protection in midst of a jungle (unless we’re talking about IUD, but that’s just me getting specific). Now, question is whether only MC and Tae knows about it, or the whole tribe;
Pregnancy would be iffy, because there’s not a way to legitimately test wether one is or isn’t pregnant, so another question is how far along MC would be and if that makes escape more complicated.
If only MC and Tae are aware, yeah, escape would be heavy on their minds, but honestly, the longer I’m thinking of all the what-ifs, I wouldn’t be surprised if JK knew before she did.
They are more in-tune with nature, they notice every single detail, as at times it’s crucial to their survival. Pregnancy comes with a looooot of changes and hardships; not only mental, but also physical.
He’d def notice the small details like backache, tiredness, swollen feet, and the more obvious ones like how tummy starts to poke out, breasts become bigger, etc.
I’m thinking he’d know before MC does, and when he figures it out, alarm bells go off, and he’d become more overbearing. Pregnancy is tough as it is, but doing it in middle of nowhere with no legitimate medical help is harder *and more dangerous* than imaginable. So, expect him to be by MC’s side 24/7. And if he’s not there, other tribe members are. That’s their leaders child, not a shot MC is left alone or allowed to do anything by herself, even less so wonder off without their supervision. Sooooo, there’s truly not a way to escape 🤷🏼♀️
Omgggg the deepest marks of essence was soooo good!! Personally, I wouldn’t have needed the juice to get me acting like that with jk lolll. But ur writing is so poetic and deep, and I really enjoyed getting to be in the mc psyche. I also found it really funny that when she found out the jk could speak English and got over it so quickly, I would’ve been so embarrasseddddd.
I do have some questions about it tho. Were the people that they murdered actually threatening the tribe or were the also just hikers or something like that that happened to enter their territory?? In the video, the guy had a gun, so I’m wondering if that meant they the were actively trying to harm the tribe.
Alsooo. That older man that the mc kept watching and making eye contact, I’m assuming he was the past leader or even jks dad but why was he so sad? I was thinking that maybe he could be upset about jk’s new tactic to kill foreigners once he became leader but I’m not sure. What’s got this man feeling so low?? But that brings out a good point - the ‘juices’, or rather psychedelics effects bring out one’s truest desires/thoughts etc., it clouds your mind and lets emotions take ahold. That’s also the reason why MC got over him speaking English so quick, as she was excited, not doubtful
Now, that her mind works properly, and she’s gathered bigger piece of the whole picture, questions going to pool in. No longer is she able to look over how he knows the language, as at the end of the day, he’s from a uncivilised tribe.
That also brings further tension between her & JK, as that puts her more in dangers way. She’s not even able to discuss ways to escape with Tae, as in my mind, in the next part she wouldn’t practically ever be alone 👀
About the people from video — 😗 Dunno how much I’m willing to say if I’m considering writing part 2, BUT! if we look back to what JK kept repeating, he was just protecting his family. Now, is that true or is our man completely delulu? Is it all black or white? Also, might that be somehow tied to him speaking English 👀 Can’t forget there were hundreds of phones laying around
Tae was the one who planned the hike, he mentioned that the path was known to be dangerous, and there weren’t any other hikers joining them. So, it’s not likely the tribe saw loads of lost hikers around. Or perhaps they did, ‘scared’ them all, till the danger signs were put all over 🤷🏼♀️
The older man - you got it! It’s both JKs dad, and the previous leader! I can’t disclose too much just incase I’m writing part 2, but know that the man shows tribes dynamic to the bone. Lil bit can be tied to what JK said to MC at his place about how they view family and a man’s dynamics/essence. That’s all I’m saying for now… 👀😗

Uuuu, good questions! I think I said before that they don't really have such strict rules as the overall society does; they do have one partner, but! they don't have a problem stepping out of that zone, as long as both partners are on the same page, aaand partners can also be platonic!
Their ''weddings'' are also a bit different than the ones we see as 'normal'; love binds all the tribe together, they respect one another and live in peace, so that's not the reason for their ''weddings''. It's more so of reaching one's higher essence - kind of like Plutos story of how a man and a woman were split in half because together they were too powerful, so they spend the rest of their lives trying to find their missing part.
That's how I see their ''weddings'' - it's not even especially for romantic partners, it's more so binding together what was once lost and what is missing. At the end of the day, not everyone in the tribe would be ''straight'', as that's part of nature, so partnerships and weddings are more so for one to acquire the part of themselves that's missing; as we know, men and women bodies are physically different, even our brains are - how they work, how we think, etc. 🤷🏼♀️
Mmmm, I don't think JK's intention was to take advantage of MC with all the intimate ordeal; it started from curiosity, moved to respect, and I think somehow he saw himself in MC - the way she took care of her brother, prioritizing him over her, that sort of played with his own role and responsibilities in the tribe.
Both of them had drunk the psychedelic liquid, and even if JK's body is more resilient to it, both of them weren't in the clearest headspace. They weren't thinking, and sex itself was not one that 'bonded' them together - at least from JK's perspective, blood marking had a bit more of a serious meaning.
I'd say at first it was more so a cultural difference; one anon previously asked whether JK saw MC's actions (cup sharing) as a form of courting, and to that - yes, for him MC replicated his own actions and intentions. Even in real life cultural difference is a biiiiig thing, as someone who studies abroad I can guarantee, that it changes everything
So, it wasn't him taking advantage of MC, but rather cultural differences, clouded mindset, and hidden desires
