thoughts: Man, this story is gonna get intense and I can’t wait to get into it!

an excerpt from today:

Yeah, there is no way I’m not in a coma right now. This is just like a dream, things suddenly changing with no reason or rhyme? A giant whale swallowing me up? Me becoming best friends with a skeleton? There’s absolutely no way this is really happening to me.

But my whole mindset completely changes when I see the next scene.

Hmm, good question. *strokes chin like a man with a beard* I guess... DHaF has evolved more than it’s changed. Just become more complex and has more characters I never had in it at the beginning (more specifically, Ruby and Chippy)

And I guess Vampire Idol has become... more brutal than the original concept was? I mean, it’s ALWAYS been pretty gorey and brutal, but if anything, it’s become... moreso?

And The Dark Mysteries of the Afterlife, when I first came up with the concept, I imagined that it was like 3-5 nightmares being repeated over and over for eternity, but as I wrote more and more, I came up with more and more nightmares, so like... it stretched out to more and more of them. So I guess that’d be a change?

WIP Intro: The Dark Mysteries of the Afterlife (completed)

The Dark Mysteries of the Afterlife, or TDMotA, is a series I started basically about a person who died before the story started, and now they’re living their afterlife. However, throughout the whole series, they think they’re just in a coma dream because in this world, hell is reliving your nightmares from your life over and over.

Genre

The Characters

There are technically two main characters for this WIP, but only one that’s really talked about.

Dane - The MC of the series. The human that died. They are in hell, reliving their nightmares and worst fears. They are nonbinary.

Unnamed Demon - The demon that is torturing them in their nightmare-esque hellscape. It takes many forms throughout the story.

The Moral

Uhhh, it’s yet another WIP for me to explore ideas for the afterlife, so I’m not really sure there is a moral. Take from it whatever morals you wish to.

This series was inspired by an anonymous ask I received for the writer Would You Ever game.

Thoughts: Goddamn shit’s intense!

Excerpt:

“What are you?” I ask again, staring into its many eyes. They all blink at once.

“Don’t you recognize me?” It asks. I look deeper and see something that brings pain to my chest and makes me double over, dry heaving. It lifts my chin with its tentacles and tells me, “You did this to me. You killed me then turned me into a monster!”

Today is Wednesday, which meeeans... it’s time for a writer game over on @mywritinggames! Keep an eye out for a game within the next hour!

Also, I’m pretty sure I’m on the final chapter of TDMotA. I’ll probably start posting the chapters, since it isn’t long enough to be a novel, once I start actually editing it. ^_^

TDMotA Update

I think I’m gonna make TDMotA a lot shorter than I originally planned.

It is at about 14.85k words... I think I’m only gonna require myself to hit 15k and after that, just... end it wherever feels natural, because I was trying to at least hit 20k and at this point, it just feels like it’s taking too long... so I’m gonna work on it and see if I finish it tonight. (:
