So, to be honest, from the bottom of my heart, I think Rodney and Max are my favorite characters of TDPI. (mostly Rodney.)

The only time we see them interact is when Max called Rodney a blubbering buffoon. (Which is, TBH, a cute nickname.)

It really is a shame that I haven’t seen them interact in this show a lot, so I made some headcanons. 

And to be safe, I made some sexual/lovecanons under the cut. (You don’t have to read it if you have to.)

Max likes to have a piggyback ride on Rodney’s back. (It’s kind of a bit romantic, actually.)

Rodney supports and accepts Max’s personality while Max supports Rodney’s

Rodney and Max love to watch America’s Got Talent.

(They are from Canada, but they love to watch it on Max’s computer.)

When Max gets mad and either starts getting in a fuss with himself, or gets stressed out, Rodney gives him a special bear hug. It calms him down. (The rest is on the lovecanon section.)

The two of them are close friends. Like, really, really close. 

They share a strong bond as friends, but secretly, they share one brain cell.

They defend each other, and they have each other’s back

Rodney’s house, which is the farm, is near to Max’s house, which is the city. It’s near and it’s connected.

Max does activities with Rodney and his brothers when he’s not doing evil.

Max, noticing and discovering Rodney’s empathetic, nervous and tongue-tied personality, is appalled by the way Rodney acts, but he gets used to it ever since.

The two of them share a liking of either Chinese food or Chinese-Canadian food.

Rodney is honestly a vegetarian, because he takes care of the farm animals. His favorites is vegetarian egg rolls and fried macaroni. (Hold the meat.)

Max’s favorite is the Newfoundland chow mein and the green onion cake.

What they like in common? Either the won-tons or the Montreal peanut-butter dumplings. It reminds them of their friendship. If they are down to one, they would rather play rock, paper, scissors for it.

Max discovers Rodney’s farm and family, while Rodney discovers Max’s house and family.

Max and Rodney’s parents are like...very great friends. That’s how the two’s friendship started, and sparked.

Rodney reads comic books while Max reads books about evil.

When Max tells a joke, Rodney doesn’t get it.

They share a unique handshake.

There is absolute trust, and I mean ABSOLUTE TRUST, between the two.

Max likes to lay down on top of Rodney when he’s exhausted of doing evil stuff. He likes to think that Rodney’s tum-tum is like a pillow.

Whenever Rodney gets all angsty, Max would either hold his hand, and/or kiss him on the cheek or the mouth. Usually on the cheek. That calms him down.

At times, Rodney looks at Max flustered, like he did with women.

Rodney and Max’s first kiss was on the back of Rodney’s farm.

Rodney is the most affectionate of the two.

One day, they had an all-out make out session, which led to them losing their virginity on each other. (Safe sex is important.)

Even though Max is evil and loves evil, he also lives for Rodney’s hugs. His hugs feel like a mix of memory form and a cute furry and fluffy bear. His pecs are also soft.

Rodney has a terrible habit of stumbling over his words to women, but doesn’t stumble his words to men, like Max.

Even though they have different personalities, they always have each other, like “peanut butter and violent jelly”.

The two of them like to boop each other’s noses.

Max keeps having thoughts about being bisexual. He loves Scarlett, but he also loves Rodney.

He also came out to Rodney, then his parents, which they accepted him for who he is. He did that because “evil people can be bisexual too.”

Rodney also has thoughts about being gay, because during his Pahkitew days, he becomes tongue tied and tends to mistake simple moves from any female as acts of love, and immediately falls for them.

He even attempts to be monogamous, but he never reciprocates his feelings.

He also came out to his family. His father and his brothers are very supportive him because they share a family bond.

The two of them have special names for each other.

Max calls Rodney, “blubbering buffoon”. (A little mean, but sweet.)

Rodney calls Max, “evil cutie-pie”, which he really is embarrassed of.

Max always thought that Rodney really is annoying, but deep down, sensitively, he can be really special to him. It means the world to him.
