This person was explaining why they had been tenured for a decade and now are choosing to leave the professoriate. Among other reasons, they were explaining how their university is expecting them “to deliver standardized experiences to…

Definitions for teaching effectiveness abound, which makes it difficult to identify any one as definitive. Does it matter that students and teachers define “teaching effectiveness” differently?
While studying this subject and broadening the scope of asking the right questions, another one came to mind. If we are evaluating which teaching format is the most effective, how do we actually define effectiveness? This study investigates just that.
Some findings of the definition were associated previously based on the descriptions of student evaluations of their instructors. But how much of this can be solely and properly evaluated on this only? We touched upon the differences between teaching and the effects it has on learning. This study also differentiates the differences between the two and how we can properly define it in terms of the effectiveness of both.

If students think that a class is easy, or doesn’t expect much out of them, then it’s only natural to expect that they won’t work hard. It’s not too common for a student to put in much more work than…

However, these days the courses I’m involved with are done by a series of professors for particular subtopics. The contrast has me thinking about the pluses and minuses of these approaches. On…
