Me (talking to doctor): oh I thought you got report from [a resident MD]
Doctor: actually, I’m an Attending now...
Me (remembering that she has been an Attending for 6 months): ....oh.....
Renders me speechless because I totally forgot and now feel bad. I proceed to lay my forehead on the desk in defeat. The other Attending MD bursts out laughing so hard. Apparently, I turned beet red.
I closed the encounter with: I can’t keep up with this place anymore!
