In the process of researching and writing my thesis I'm also on the way to make advanced math more accessible as the underlying patterns of the most difficult appearing parts of mathematics can be reproduced neatly in the imagination.
This is nothing that was really mentioned in any formal education I ever received. Although, there was one teacher who really understood and loved her field. She could explain why equations/etc are the way they are in a way that you could concretely reproduce in the imagination.
Bring back real math into the math curriculum! Make it creative, relatable and curiosity-inducing again!
It is sad that math gets veiled into an ugly envelope of what it is not, and people think they hate math... when in reality they merely hate the thing that only gets enveloped as such.
I remember when I talked with similar aged peers, often neurodivergent ones, in a youth psychiatry some years back about math and science... from a merely artsy standpoint. A lot of them were really thankful, they became interested, curious, they could finally make sense of it all. And the joy of them you felt was so real and pure. It is the most precious feeling I ever witnessed. Maybe I'm born to be a teacher. I don't know.
Restoring the beauty of the sciences and math is something so precious. Also, I have come to know, people also enjoy it and sometimes it even gives them hope...
