Warning: Unfollow Spree Incoming

It’s finally time. I’ve been talking about it for years, but this year I feel a great need to simplify my life. I have spent a lot of energy trying to care about everything I see on Tumblr, all the personal posts and the depression reblogs and the friend drama and the relationship issues, and as much as I will continue to care about those things, I can’t go on caring about a hundred people I don’t know. 

A good deal of the people I’m unfollowing won’t even see this, so it’s not a big deal. But chances are, I will be unfollowing a few mutuals. Not with any anger or anything, all my mutuals are fantastic people, just in a...I literally can’t carry on this way anymore, kind of way. 

The people who might care at all if I unfollow are probably safe. Mostly, I’ll be unfollowing people I’ve never spoken to or people it’s been years since I last talked to. Or people who have been following me for years and who I’ve reached out to in their times of trouble, but when I went through the hell of the last year had nothing to say to me. Again, not in anger. I simply can’t afford to spend energy on caring about people when I’m not getting anything back. I have to be able to recharge. I have felt completely spent for months and months and months, and it can’t continue. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are unfollowed and you notice and care, or are confused as to why, I probably just didn’t recognize your URL. My memory is the worst lately. If you’ve changed your URL in the last year or so, I may not remember that you’re you. If you care that I’ve unfollowed you, PLEASE PLEASE send me a message with your old URL. It was probably a mistake, and I’ll regret it.

This will be going on over the next few days, maybe even weeks. I just want to give a heads up. If you are concerned, just send me a message. But again, if you care, you’re probably safe.

I came across your 'being still, being sad' mix on 8tracks and I just wanted to send you a message to let you know I thought it was absolutely beautiful and sad in the most perfect way, if it's possible for there to be a perfect way to be sad. I appreciate the work that went into it. And also, I'm thinking of you today. Hope that's not too weird.

It means a lot! Yeah, it was just four years of tampering down a lot of grief and then one day realizing that you just have to let yourself be sad sometimes and I realized that those songs are good sitting down and letting yourself be sad songs. I have a mix coming out soon about reconciling yourself with five years of a tragedy so I hope you like that, too, when I put it up.

How?!

I'm using Chrome, running AdBlock. Right-click Coppy, go to AdBlock, use the sliding bar until it disappears, and then hit "Block it!" You'll likely have to do it twice--once for the Coppy, and again for the dialog box. I've refreshed the page twice since I did it, and it hasn't come back. It didn't change anything else, but at least that bit of nuisance is gone.

Flying Fox is THE BEST. And I'm super jealous of your Turkish Delight! If you find any other cosmetic/bath stores, please share! :)

I love it lots, but Turkish Delight is easily the best thing I've ever purchased from there. If I catch wind of a new shop, I will be sure to post about it!

It makes me so sad that we don't have access to Bath & Body Works in Scotland. I sometimes browse the website and sigh that they don't do postage to here. Do you get The Body Shop in the US?

We do get The Body Shop here! I will probably make a note to take a trip down to the nearest one I can find and check out their stuff. It's also sad to hear that you don't get Bath & Body Works, which is such a shame because comparatively they're GREAT products and a lot cheaper, too. I may consider doing a giveaway or something of the sort for people in the UK, that could be fun.
