Instantly the blonde perked up at the sight of the redhead, a smile crossing her lips. She shuffled blonde curls over her shoulder.

“Hi Riddle! Has it been too long?” Alice wasn’t one to keep track of time, for various reasons. “I’ve been alright. I’ve been pondering my muchness as of late. I wonder if I have lost it.” The smile briefly disappeared into a frown but came back again. “How are you? Not stuck in books?” Though a bit hypercritical, she herself sticks herself into books all the time.

“Did you know,” Alice began as she pushed aside her book to give her attention fully onto her house warden. “That the queen uses a pig as a foot rest?” It’s random but she saw a pig in a book and was reminded of it.

“Who would have thought.”

Alice stared blankly at Riddle before brows furrowed. Lost his hearing? How? That was so unusual, if this came out of nowhere!

Her mouth opened to speak then closed it. She didn’t have paper on her but she had an ace up her sleeve - if he knows this.

<how did you lose your hearing?> the blonde signed. Did he know? If not she can communicate with her magic.

Alice frowned at him. Why was he acting.. different? Her gaze shifted away from Riddle moments later. “He’s busy.” She answered. It wasn’t technically a lie. Trey was done at this time, but she didn’t want to bother him. Or any of the other cards.

“Why can’t you?”

Was their last encounter still on his mind? She’s still feeling down, but Riddle was good at finding things.,

Being late to something wasn’t as uncommon but sometimes her naps take longer than expected. As was the case right then. Alice was currently hunched over on a table, head resting on crossed arms, with cartoonish birds floating above. There was an open book, one she used for notes. Except.. there’s an obvious doodle of Riddle, in red, and herself, in blue. If she’d known ahead of time Riddle himself would come looking for her, she would’ve closed the book so he wouldn’t see.
