So running over to kenpachi she threw forward clutching onto his robes for a hug. " Nel gots papa something." Holding a teddy to him she grinned widely. “ ugh, fuck off, ” he grumbles as he sits up, cracking his neck & flexing his toes. he's not going to thank her, and she probably knows that already. he was too cocky, the itch to fight overriding his need for caution & he certainly almost paid the price. he sighs in annoyance when he realises his legs are still stiff & probably couldn't support his weight. how fuckin' annoying.

his still clawed hand comes up to cradle the back of nel's neck, pushing her down slightly so his lips can meet her forehead. he'd never say the words, but he can show his gratefulness in other ways. “ won't be able to walk for a little bit, you go chase after kurosaki and show him how strong you've gotten. ”
