Intensity
I have just watched FM's 09-March-15 episode and felt sad for Xander and the constant rejection from Agnes; in her words, in her thoughts and in her deeds. Pusong-bato si Agnes. I sometimes wish merong short cut to forgiveness or erase button so the pain would stop and we will see rainbows and butterflies once again.
But, nauunawaan ko rin si Agnes kasi matindi ang pinaghuhugutan niya. How she developed this coldness must be the result of how deeply her heart was broken. She has told Xander that she almost died when he left her 2 years ago (and without explanation). We did not see how she endured the pain, the darkness that she felt and had to get over with during that period. Love has its costs (hardships and pains) and it only makes sense that if you break that love you need to pay the dues. But that same heart, once you chipped away the cold, stony part, you'll find still beating for you (and only ever you, Xander) with the same intensity, perhaps even more, when you first found it. I think nagpapakatotoo lang si Agnes. It will take a lot of patience and a lot of love to win her heart back. Please push pa some more, Superman! Agnes is worth the fight.
Hey all this is Agnes Marks, my entry for sweeetpixels Bachelorette Challenge.
Born to a pair of environmental scientists posted in a remote Alaskan station Agnes had a wonderful childhood. Her parents were liberal and busy and due to their unorthodox lifestyle Agnes' preferred style of dress and activity went largely unnoticed, a quirk they thought, until they returned to civilization and enrolled their child in a conventional school.
"Arthur" Marks hated school. The teachers called her by the wrong name, made her use the boys bathroom and the other kids laughed when she tried to join in braiding hair or playing dolls.The Marks' watched bemused as it became clear that little "Arthur"'s playful femininity was much more than a phase. It was who their child was.
After a long chat with "Arthur" and a little adjustment the Marks family tossed out all of the boys school trousers, tossed out the judgement that came with their application to change their child's name on the school roster and eventually moved to a new town to start a fresh life with their eight-year-old daughter Agnes.
Agnes grew up secure, petite and pretty with nobody questioning her gender and as soon as she was able began hormone replacement therapy with her parents blessing. All was going well until on her 17th birthday after a glass of champagne she confided in a close friend that she had been born a boy.
A few days later her father found Agnes beaten unconscious on her walk home when she failed to make it home and outrage swept through the conservative town.
Another move secured their safety but this time Agnes was done hiding. She took some self defence classes, joined the LGBTQ society in their new town and decided to dedicate her life to raising awareness of gender discrimination, fighting against ignorance and hate and supporting transgenders with less supportive families than her own.
Now 24, Agnes is an influential blogger, a Technology Grad and is currently looking for funding to start a shelter for LGBQT teens with nowhere else to turn. She has yet to undergo gender-reassignment surgery, despite knowing she is a girl she is actually really happy with her body as it now is and doesn't feel the need to rush that decision. What's so important about genitalia anyway? Agnes firmly believes in loving a person rather than what they have between their legs.
When she saw that a pansexual had been chosen as Bachelorette she was elated. Finally the media was getting it! Then she saw Phoebe and formed an instant crush on the doe-eyed bachelorette. Filling in the form with anxious energy Agnes hoped that perhaps Phoebe will be the one for her. If not she hopes at the very least to keep spreading the message that love is love no matter what combination of people it is between.
