(just some thoughts on the first episode of hsmtmts)

I don’t ship them, but if I have to pick a side, I’ll choose EJ because Ricky is auditioning just to prove himself to Nini, while EJ really likes acting. I’m not saying that Ricky should’ve told Nini “I love you” (because if you’re not ready you don’t have to say it), but he blew it and now Nini has moved on and he should simply accept it. I get it that now he regrets it, but like,, you tell your girlfriend you want to take a pause after she told you she loves you?? And now you think she wants you back?? I don’t think that’s how the world works, boy.

I’m still baffled with people that feel that Ricky is the obvious choice. Haven’t you seen Lalaland? Ricky is an artistic fling, a fun 6 months of pizza and videogames, but nothing more. It’s been 3 episodes (4 months) and I’ve only heard Ricky wanting Nini back and just be together. No benefit for Nini at all.

With EJ, she has found confidence, he’s always supporting her and actually thinking of ways she can be benefited. 

He’s still a creepy dude, and the relationship shouldn’t be long-term, but for the moment I see no upside for Nini getting back together with Ricky.

Ok. So EJ is apparently a sociopath. Still, Nini can just use him during his Senior Year and drop him like a fly. 

At least he’s not Ricky. That kid was needy before his family issues. He’s being needy during them, and he’ll continue to be needy long after.
