I’m not sure if you meant both of them together or not, so I went with separate. I hope that’s okay!
Prompt: 11. “What’s with the box?”
You and Akaashi had been walking around the pond at the local park near where you lived. While the relationship between the two of you was still fairly new, you’ve already been on 4 dates together in such a short span of time, and you couldn’t believe how close the two of you have gotten.
While you never really told Akaashi, you felt kind of guilty about it. He’s a 3rd year now. Even though he should be focusing on his studies for graduation entrance exams, he’s been spending all of his free time, with you, a mere 2nd year.
Coming up to a bench, Akaashi slowed his walking and turned to you.
“___-san, may we sit here together?” He asked, while pulling something out from his pocket.
“Umm, sure Akaashi-san, but what’s with the box?”
He smiled slightly turning to you as you both sat down.
“Well, I had heard it was your birthday today, so I naturally wanted to give you something.”
He opened the box, revealing a beautiful necklace with pendant covered in your birthstone.
“I know that our time together everyday is limited. Eventually, you and I will graduate, and neither of us know if the direction we’re headed will be the same. Still, if you’d be willing, I’d like for us to both try and stay together, even if we’re physically far apart.”
Delicately, he removed the necklace from the box, presenting it against your neck.
“Would you please accept this?”
“Bokuto?” You called out, walking through the door of your shared apartment. “I’m ho-OHM!”
“Oh! Welcome home babe! How was your day?”
“Well, it was great before I almost fell over. What’s with this box?” And how did you not see it earlier? It’s huge.
“Aah, sorry. I kind of forgot it didn’t I. Don’t worry though babe, it’s great! It’s a Christmas tree, and it even comes with decorations!”
“… A Christmas tree?! Bokuto, it’s the middle of the summer!” What kind of store even CARRIED a Christmas tree this time of year.
“Hey, hey, hey! It’s you and Akaashi who are always telling me to prepare early for things! Well, now we’re all prepared for our first Christmas!”
While it’s sweet that he’s already thinking ahead for your first Christmas in your shared apartment, you just had so many questions. Like why yet another box was being shoved in your face
“Oh and see! A Christmas present!”
“T-thank you?” You questioned, reaching out for the box before it was suddenly taken away.
“Nu-huh, babe! You gotta wait til Christmas morning!”
