Rainbow Brite

Wisp was born in New England during the Industrial Revolution.
A demigod daughter of Iris, Wisp was raised in an orphanage where she felt unloved and unneeded but was always able to take care of herself and others.
As a result, Wisp was empathetic but also practical and smart for a six year old when Iris brought her to Chromaton to start her quest, forced to grow up a little too early. The land was ravaged by dark forces and under the control of the Evil One, possibly a reflection of Wisp’s own home life.
She promised to make Rainbow Land beautiful again. Those were the words Iris used to convince her.
She wanted a land that needed her, and in so doing she became Rainbow Land’s light, hope and color. There will always those who wish to make it dark that she has to fight against.
It was the Sphere of Light that made her more akin to the Color Kids, as she wasn’t a ‘native’ at that point. It ensured that she didn’t age and that she was bound to the Spectrum too.
It was her job to not only be guardian of Chromaton and the Kids, but also manually fix parts of the Spectrum where color was not correctly distributed.
Her Sprite’s name is Twink, short for Twinkle. He is the designated leader of all Sprites. Twink was originally a Red Sprite before Murky threw him into a pit that drained all his color, leaving his fur white.
Rainbow adopted Puppy Brite and Kitty Brite as her pets, though they get taken care of by everyone.
She became a mother figure to the Color Kids, who she believed were always the same age and had just appeared that way one day. No one refuted that claim.
The Kids were part of Rainbow Land, and the land a part of them.
My personal theory is that the moment Wisp put on the Belt, the Kids sensed it and were able to astral project themselves to her. They were also known to the Sprites as Color Keepers, not Color Kids. That was a nickname that stuck.
