KamehaCon was amazing. I’ve never felt so welcomed and safe at any other convention I have been to. AX was great fun but because it was like, 300,000 people, there was no intimacy except within the cosplay meetups. This one had a small town feel to it and I honestly may not go to any other cons until next year, that’s how satisfying this was. I traveled around with my friend Rebecca who was cosplaying Arale. Th first thing we did was go to Brian’s booth because he was the first guy there that morning and the first booth you see when you turn the corner. I of course mentioned the OVER 9000! thing because well, that meme is legendary and we had a good laugh about it. Rebecca made all three of the Vegetas crochet plushies and gave one to each. We met up with this family and their daughter who was cosplaying Goku but was 100% team Vegeta. There was a life size Vegeta next to Brian’s booth that everyone was taking selfies with and the family’s daughter ran up to it and hugged it while squeeing “IT’S VEGETA IT’S VEGETA!” and basically doing the same thing to my friend Allen and the rest of the Vegeta cosplayers. It was the cutest thing ever and I wish I could have seen her meet Chris because that would have been adorable to film(Team Vegeta Rules!). We then waited for Chris for 3 hours and I knew his line would be crazy long so I came prepared with my japanese final flash cards(pun totally intended). I did get visibly nervous when meeting Chris to the point where the girl behind me had to push me forward and was speechless for a minute but was able to relax. Chris was really sweet and even kept calling me “HIS BULMAAAAA!” in Vegeta’s voice. I just about died inside. While waiting in the 3 hour line, I met the couple that got married by Chris on sunday and they told me in advance what would be going on XD. I wished them a happy marriage. Throughout the wait for Chris, Ryo walked by us and waved at us a total of 4 times ^-^. When Rebecca gave Chris his plushie, he asked her if he did some voodoo magic on it if it would hurt Sean and we all cracked up. So after Chris, I went around the con taking pictures of cosplayers and getting stopped for photo ops myself. I stopped by Monica’s booth because i kind of had to as I was cosplaying Bulma and we had this little conversation about weird things people say and do on twitter XD. She and Chris were definitely the most fun. I attended two panels, the Beerus panel and the Vegeta panel. At the end of the Beerus panel Jason Douglass got up from his seat and began dancing to “YEAH!” while tossing snack pack pudding at the audience...and then he “Hakai’d” us. The Vegeta panel was defiantly the most fun. I left after the group big bang attack because I had to meet my friend Kim at Ryo’s booth but it was a fun and memorable panel. Ryo and Sean both had their booths upstairs away from the craziness. I was not originally planning on seeing Sean because I dd not think I would have the time for another crazy line but by the time I got over to his booth which was 5:30 ish, there were only three other guys there so I decided to say hello. Sean was absolutely adorable and gave me the biggest hug after we took the selfie together. I kind of wanted to take him back with me ^-^. There was one little girl who I think was around 5 ish who had the cutest Goku cosplay on but when it was her turn to meet Sean, she got all shy and wouldn’t go near him. Sean took it well though. I finally got in Ryo’s line with Kim and had a brief talk with him in Japanese(It was finals week, I had to practice). Ryo was rather quiet but still a sweet guy and meeting the original Vegeta was really special. After that, I decided to be done with autographs for the day and headed down to the vendors to do some shopping. I ran into Derek Padula(Dao of Dragon Ball) who has faved several of my instagram posts and we talked about Light of Hope, the infamous “orange bricks”, AX and the fun of cosplay. I did not have time to say hi to anyone else because I had to get home but on my way out I walked by Phil’s booth(Nappa) and gave him a wave. I honestly have to say that this is the most welcomed I’ve felt at a con. The dragon ball fandom is full of people that look out for one another and care about each other. I cannot wait to come back for more. You guys are like a family to me.
