Anis padded to Keme, holding a box of chocolates before she held them out to the Pikachu. “Hey, happy Valentine’s Day, Keme. I got you these.” She smiled at him, her cheeks turning a dark shade of gray. “I hope you like them. I used some of my old friend’s recipes for them, and they’re usually really good and-” She just stopped her rambling abruptly. “Erm. Sorry.”

“Cuphead! Where are you?!” Mugman called, biting his lip nervously at the silence. It wasn’t long before his eyes started tearing up again. It’d been almost two hours since he told Elder Kettle he went missing, and they’d been searching ever since. It’d been hours since they started playing hide-and-seek, and he just suddenly went missing. It was already way past his bed time, let alone curfew, but he wasn’t going to leave without finding his baby brother. “C-come on! Y-you win already! J-just-” His throat caught on itself, and he began coughing, tired of yelling out at this point, but he couldn’t give up on his brother. “...Just come out where ever you are...” He continued, wiping his eyes yet again.

Cuphead had been running back home in the dark and through the snowstorm. It had been hard to see already, but he was still hoping to make it home before Mugs or Grampa had noticed he was missing. However, because of the lack of vision, it was only a matter of time before the child tripped over an upturned root, and fell on the cold icy ground. 

“Ow!” The child whined. He tried getting up, but he heard a small cracking sound and felt a sharp pain. With another shriek, the child fell back down, curling up as he held his right ankle. Was it broken? He shivered in the cold, and zipped his coat, not sure what to do. It was too cold for Cagney to be out, and the only other person that was relatively close by was Hilda, and who knows where she was.
