CMW2/Trumpetnista: Shattering Expectations (163/163)
Summary from FFN: "Ideally, a Presidency lasts 8 years. Ideally, a marriage lasts 50. 8 years of a job, even the highest job in the Land is not worth 42 years of misery...";"What kind of coward was I to marry her and not wait for you to show up...why didn't I meet you sooner..."These two lines will be at the core of this Olitz fic;Rated for language & spice;7th in my 2013 SSS Project;NOW COMPLETE!
Teaser from Chapter 163: "Look, it's Bibi! Papi, it's Bibi and they've got Grampy too! They're next to each other! Look!"
"I see them, angelita (little angel). Do you know why they're here?"
"Cuz they were Presidents, too?"
"Grampy was. Bibi was his First Lady. Do you like their pictures?"
"Uh-huh...but where are Grampy's glasses? Did he lose them again?"
"No, Sophie, he didn't need them yet."
"Ohhh..."
As if on cue, Fitz came into view and Olivia cracked up at the bemused expression on his face.
"Did you lose your glasses, again?"
"...maybe."
"Did you, Mister?"
"...yes. Apparently, it's a family me-may, now."
"It's pronounced 'meme', love."
"Right...Livvie, have you seen my glasses?"
"Nope, but there's a spare pair next to the cookie jar. Look at how excited she is..."
Mm. You still okay with being married to a slightly forgetful and blind old man?"
"Always."

My Final Thoughts on 7x05 (taken from Shattering’s latest A/N...)
I know that 7x05's title was supposed to refer to the subplot with President Rashad and his niece (which I saw the fiery, evil endgame for a country mile away...goddamn it, I liked him and I actually liked him with Mellie! FUCK.) but really, it was about Liv behaving like a spoiled, diaper rash having, raging toddler the whole night and being treated as such.
Every person, even Joke Bastard (who doesn't love her at all, don't come at me with that. 'She's a lost cause'? FUCK OFF, you fishlipped-subhuman mouth breathing piece of shit! You just want her to be miserable like you because she won't fuck you anymore, you petty piece of fucking shit!) shut her down for most of the episode. Mellie, Cyrus, Rowan, Fitz (which was the whole entire SHIT! I LOVED IT!), and then even Reporter Dude! Reporter Dude Curtis not only broke up with her but ROASTED her! It was so cool! Look, until the POWER demon is exorcised, I will enjoy every bit of bad karma Liv gets. I will. I hate bullies. Liv's a bully now. She's Rowana now.
Of course, me still being Olitz trash and utterly Team Fitz loved the scene with her storming around trying to start an ugly 509 argument the most. Fitz wasn't putting up with any of it. He didn't even really yell. He called her out for being the subhuman POWER hungry bitch (he didn't call her that, I did!) she's been, told her that when she got done with her trip, he'd be waiting, and then he just sat down and started watching TV? It was so cool and sad. It was a prime example of how good Fitz's character development has been and just how far Olivia has fallen into the Dark.
Fitz is the only person who still sees Olivia Pope, who still fully believes in her but...man, can we just skip to the part where she gets fired and scorned like she's been scorning everyone, and she's finally forced to get some help?
Seriously, if this Rowana POWER bullshit is the hill that SR is gonna die on with Liv's character, then just kill her off and put us all out of our misery. This Season 7, this FINAL season version of Liv doesn't deserve to be happy solo or with Fitz or with someone else good. Until she actually gets help and starts being human again, the resolution Olivia Pope deserves and that I will accept for her is a very lonely death. I'm not sorry about it.
My Final Thoughts on 7x03 (taken from Shattering’s latest A/N...)
Before I begin, I'd like to thank everyone who has kept reading this story because it's been 150 chapters! I totally didn't notice until I saw a couple of reviews and I was like: oh, yeah...LOL! Seriously, thank you. I write for me but it's always dope to know that folks enjoy my stuff!
703 was fucking AWE-SOME. It really was. Seeing Fitz outside of DC's POWER madness was refreshing and quite compelling in places. I know he misses his Livvie just like we do but he's really trying to make a life for himself, trying to be happy. I'm rooting for an Olitz happily ever after or the groundwork laid down to one in the endgame but still...yay, Fitz!
Also, 703 reinforced why I stan him. Fitz is not flawless. Sometimes, he can be a privileged asshole and a pouty broody brat BUT he is willing to grow, willing to learn, and willing to accept & work past his flaws. He is self aware and genuinely humble. Nobody else on the show is like that! His interactions with Marcus (who I still adore and SR better not fucking kill or ruin him, I swear to God!) showcased the good and the bad of Fitz in a way that made me happy. Pretty much, Fitz is acting like TG does IRL when it comes to social issues now & that makes what's left of SCANDAL worth my time.
Fitz makes what's left of SCANDAL worth my time. Always.
The best part of the great episode was when Rowan showed up. I hate Rowan with the fiery passion of a 1000 suns. Every time I see him or hear one of his hotep, bitter old "woke" man standing on the corner monologues, I foam at the mouth but hearing him literally beg Fitz to go back to DC to save Liv from herself (and acknowledging how shitty of a father he is), after all the disrespect towards "the boy", after all the hateful and deadly bullshit he happily did to help Liv in tearing Fitz, herself, and Olitz apart? It was amazing. I always love it when a bully has to swallow a slice of humble pie and Rowan had to eat the whole fucking thing! YAAASSS. SUFFER, YOU PIECE OF SHIT!
704 is already shaping up to be pretty damned dope, too. None of the good things we see between Olitz will count until the Series Finale but Fitz is gonna drag Rowana/Fauxlivia Rhimes kicking and screaming back to reality, back to humanity and it's gonna be lit AF. Is it Thursday yet?
My Final Thoughts on 7x02 (taken from Shattering’s latest A/N)
7x02 was much, much better than the opener. Not to say that Liv doesn't suck all the donkey dick anymore (she does!) but she was tolerable. We could see that underneath all the POWER lust & Rowana arrogance, the Olivia Pope we love is still in there. That being said, the only parts I truly enjoyed about the episode had very little to do with her.
QPA is gold. It really is and it deserves far more respect than it's getting. I loved how Abby and the rest of the surviving Gladiators + Charlie are keeping the Gladiator idea alive, despite Liv obviously abandoning it & them for the sake of POWER. Seriously, she's acting like one of the outcast nerds that gets popular and promptly abandons her true friends. It's sad.
And Quinn should give Liv relationship lessons. Seriously.
Even Mellie and Cyrus were good to watch. I could've done without Mellie whining about just how hard being POTUS is (and they all thought Fitz was just weak? NOPE) and the obvious Trump guy in play but still, everyone but Liv (and a still pressed Joke Bastard) is worth rooting for right now. Everyone but them deserves some sort of happily ever after and I hope we can get some explanation as to why that is in 7x03. What the fuck happened in Mellie's first 100 days that has caused Liv to become...ugh?
But what truly matters? Fitz is back! I knew that he would see Liv with the reporter dude eventually but the way they did it? YES. Fitz is back and I can already tell that Liv is going to be shook like a motherfucker. He was looking fine as all get out and the way that he didn't even really react when he saw her outside of her apartment? YES. He still loves Liv. He always will but he's making a life outside of her, trying to be happy without her. I don't think Liv ever really imagined a time where it seems that Fitz is willing to walk away for good but here we are. Seems like ol' Verna was right back in 2. Now, we just have to see if Liv will actually make the right decisions.
I'm thinking that she won't and that sucks but hey! Fitz is back, motherfuckers and 7x03 is his episode. We get to see what he's been doing now that he's free of DC's POWER hungry madness. It's gonna be lit.
