My favorite color belt was Purple Belt, I knew enough to win most of the time but still not enough to avoid getting smashed by my senior teammates. What was your favorite belt color? The colored belt ranking in Jiu-Jitsu is a great tool for understating a particular students training time and experience levels. Everyone’s journey is different, so your belt color may not directly reflect your understanding of the art. First thing that comes to mind are the cross-training athletes that may already have grappling experience, our deploying military brothers and sisters, and the teenagers that have graduated into the adult belt rankings. So psyched to hit the @sambosteve #LegKnot tonight while rolling. I posted a video of the tech awhile back from an @budovideos #RolledUp episode. I set it up from a 50/50 type position and had the leg on the inside low side. Steve shows it on the outside high side. I try switching it, but end up getting the sub when we tip, and the heel is exposed on the inside high side. I'm really psyched to be able to see the progress my teammate Mike has been making on the mats. He's a teen who lives somewhere on the Aspergers spectrum and I can imagine dealing with other kids and school can be a real challenge for him.
