Today @morsefieldhockey2018 got to participate in the Annual Drive Out Cancer Field Hockey Tournament hosted by Mt. Ararat High School. Teams from MTA, Morse, Brunswick, Lisbon, Boothbay, Lincoln Academy, and Maranacook all raised money to help fight cancer and then played together today in a fun round-robin of games. While it’s a great opportunity to work on our games and teamwork in the preseason, we also took time to recognize the disease that, as one speaker noted, ‘brings us all together as a community to help eradicate it.’ While listening to speeches by cancer survivors, family members of those still fighting, and of those who have lost, many of my own family and friends were at the forefront of my heart. Sadly, the list is longer than it should be, and will continue to grow as we all (thankfully!) age. It was truly moving to have the time to reflect on those we’ve lost too soon, to praise the skies for my peeps who have won their battles, and to send kick-ass vibes to those who need them. Today, for me, these balloons were flying directly to @fiveislandslobsterco to help my friend Keith crush his cancer. I loved Neville Longbottom all along!

That's right, I said it! While everyone else was making fun of him in the books and the movies I was sitting there doodling anime pictures based on his description and wondering about how hard a life he must have had, having lost his parents and having to live with his gram, being made fun of all the time by everyone... he just wanted to be liked! It's okay Neville, I always cared about you ;-;
