Here's to my little guy. You're growing so fast, crawling everywhere and exploring your curiosities. You warm me up every morning when you smile and reach for me when you wake up. We always have fun whenever we spend time together. You have such a deep personality, it's amazing to see the behaviors you got from me and your mommy, and how you learn from your daily experiences. 9 months later.... Stokely is healthy, happy, strong, very curious, and the cutest member of the Phillips family 😁. Crawling everywhere, standing for multiple seconds at a time unassisted, and very loud and vocal. We are expecting those teeth to start peeking out soon 🦷🦷🦷 and I want to hear what he's thinking. 8 months. Have I mentioned how Stokely is crawling? He would rather be walking, and is doing everything he can to stand up, but he's not quite there yet, so crawling will do. #trusttheprocess I am making him a bunch of solid food now to eat along with breast milk, like carrots, sweet potatoes, apples, broccoli and his absolute favorite, bananas. The best feeling is seeing him smile and reach for me when I get home from work. That cancels out any other feeling that I have had throughout the day. I could have sworn I was writing about how 6 months felt like they flew by.......last week. Here we are at month 7 and my baby boy is sitting up unassisted, rolling around freely, discovering climbing, sleeping in his crib (not all night yet, but for a solid amount of hours), and warming my heart 🥰. I love when he reaches for me to pick him up and hug. But then he sees mommy and immediately reaches for her lol. Birthday family Walk (the pic is post walk, obviously). Today starts the 43rd edition of my voyage around the sun. I'm excited to have my little guy Stokely join the trip on this Earth "minivan" (I'm working on my corny dad jokes). 🌍☀️🚐 I am grateful for life and my family, including friends, colleagues and others whose brief interactions have made an impact in my life or I to theirs. <yesterday> Stokely is at the half-year mark, 6 months since he was born! Shrieking, trying to talk, and attempting to knock beverages out of his mother's and my hands is his M.O., his modus operandi. Everytime I hold him I remember when he was a newborn, and how tiny he was. He is getting taller, and he has a healthy energy accompanied with a heart-warming smile that can cancel out any bad day one could be having. His personality is deepening. When we are out for our walks/hikes and he is hungry, he will grab the bottle out of my hands now. He won't be able to hold it up the entire time he eats, but his strength is impressive. "The Adventures of Stokely and Lloyd" Some of our favorite walks and hikes through fall and winter so far. My favorite was at the South Mountain Reservation, with dirt trail. A nice opportunity to break out my trusty trail shoes, @altrarunning Lone Peaks. Stokely not so much. He got hungry so our hike got cut short lol.
