The hot new trading card battle game is GISHémon! Create a trading card for each of your team mates with their photo and stats (location, Gisher type, powers, etc.) as the powerful kindness monsters they are. We must see each teammate’s unobscured face for it to count.
Excuse me for being an obnoxious proud mama but LOOK GISH TWEETED MY BABY
a preview of my time during GISH
The actual members of Team Trash Brigade have to be gracious about their loss but I SURE FUCKIN DON’T
THEY SHOULD HAVE WON
THEY SENT A PAPER AIRPLANE INTO SPACE
THEY CRUSHED A FUCKIN BUS
DID YOU SEE ALL THAT ART KAI DID?! UNREAL!
AND THERE WAS A TINY TRASH BRIGADER IN UTERO DURING THE WHOLE THING
I’m bitter and butthurt and sad for my friends.
I know GISHWES isn’t about winning but GODDAMMIT they deserved to win

GISHWHES registration is open for the 2017 hunt and I wanted to make a post about my experience last year in case anyone is on the fence about participating. I know (from personal experience) that watching the hunt from the outside can be daunting. It seems intense and time consuming and expensive to take part in. I remember specifically thinking that it would be impossible because I've never actually physically met any of my fandom friends. I know, it's sad. I'll give you a minute to get a tissue. It always looked like a lot of fun, but it seemed like a thing that other people got to do, not me. Anyway, I don't want to bore you with my particular GISHWHES tale, though I'm happy to talk more about it if you want to message me. I just figured it might help some people make the decision to have an amazing week doing fun stuff if I shared some of my basic stats: - Number of times I've done GISHWHES: 1 - Items I completed: 14 (plus my part of the team photo) - Money spent: approx $75 (though having an art studio helped and I returned the Etch-a-Sketch when I was done....shhhhh.) - GISHWHES teammates that I've met: 0 - Days since GISHWHES that I've gone without talking to my teammates: 0 - Runner Up medals: 1 In summary, it was hands down the best week I had last year and I would encourage anyone considering joining a team to say yes! Don't worry if you don't know other people doing it, I hardly knew anyone on my team and now we're family.
