I like pop-punk but I 100% agree with you. Plus I think because of all that it's one of the most ill defined genres out there? Like anything vaguely whiny and aimed at teens is labeled pop-punk in my experience.

Yeah I totally agree. 

Also I feel like the thing that resonates with a lot of people who love pop-punk is, it’s often the first kind of pop music they hear that actually talks about emotions, and like, real feelings like the ones human people actually have?? Unlike a lot of other pop which is just about the veneer of emotionality, or even the numbing of negative feelings. So in that way i could see it as a very affirming thing for someone who's maybe never related to music before at an emotional level...

I honestly think i’d be fine with it if it didn’t use the words pop and punk, if it had it’s own definitions, and I guess “scene” is one but even that is so vague! What scene does that mean? is there a lexicon of pop-punk sub-genres I’m not aware of? Maybe I should just learn more about it idk :\

i wish platonic kink were more popular.. :/ and in general that kink were shown in a more positive light for similar reasons that i wish sex ed in schools were more comprehensive. kink is a great way to explore different types of intimacy & sensation, helps practice trust & communication in a safe environment, and is a whole lot of fun. and bondage gear just looks & feels badass. i wish it were, if not encouraged, then at least not frowned upon for people to play around with what feels good, what doesn’t, etc. in the same vein, i wish stimming in public were less taboo. let people feel good 2k16.
