To my girl,

Do you know how incredibly proud I am of you? Do you know how much you have grown, how hard you have worked, how fierce you have become?

I want you to know that I’m so proud. That I know there have been many other women who have let you down. That some women who were supposed to protect you, nurture you, shield you instead left you alone and afraid. That you have had to go through more than any one person should.

And that you are still here, still alive. 

Your determination amazes me. Your perseverance is astounding. The way you set your goals and then achieve them is something reverent to behold.

Thank you, for being a best friend when I needed one the most. For being more than that. For helping to show me how to rebuild my world, and for helping me see real love didn’t hurt.

Thank you for never giving up on me. 

I don’t have advice for you, my love, because you don’t need it. I know that you doubt yourself sometimes, but the strength and answers you need are inside you. You are truly amazing, and there are days, moments, where you see it in yourself and that’s when you truly shine.

Our life together has been crazy. There have been awful times, and wonderful times, and times that were a little of each. But we have each other. And I am never going to stop reminding you of just how powerfulincredibleamazing you truly are.

I'm Irish, English, Scottish, and possibly Welsh or Scandinavian? I'm actually missing a huge chunk of my family tree.

4. Approximately how many posters are hung up in your room?

Um, zero, actually. Though I do have a gorgeous tapestry of a water dragon hanging up. My friend Rachel painted it for my . . . sixteenth? . . . birthday.

Besides "gif warning," probably "Molly reblogs vomitrociously cute stuff and neglects to give a damn."

36. Would you ever paint your room pink?

Probably not? Nothing against the colour; there are just better colours for home décor (that said, the room I grew up in was pink for the first part of my life).

47. What is your favourite vegetable?

Mmm . . . probably carrots. But I don't like them cooked.

Cruella: Something you really want but you aren’t allowed to have.

Ah, man, I don’t even know. Like, there’s nothing like stopping me in a disciplinary way or anything from getting what I want. I guess the laws of physics do not currently allow me to snuggle with my boyfriend, so I guess that?

Aurora: Story of your first kiss

Oh, God. So I’m what you’d call a “late bloomer”; since the guys at my high school all thought I was a lesbian (and I did not yet actually have any interest in girls, so it wasn’t like I was going to hook up with the one out lesbian at my school), I didn’t get kissed until I was 17 and in university. It was an inelegant affair; I got fairly drunk and went to one of Windsor’s famous keggers with Rachel. I met this guy there and we basically hugged to greet each other but then we just didn’t stop hugging because we thought that would be funny (drunk logic is weird)? So we just talked for a long time while hugging each other, and then we sort of stopped talking, looked at each other, and started making out.

Honestly, I don’t really have much of a frame of reference here, but I’m going to go ahead and say he was not a very good kisser. Like … his teeth were scraping my chin. I think it might have been his first kiss too, actually. Anyway, we ended up going out on a date later that week and that was when I discovered that I did not want to be in a relationship unless it felt natural and not like an anxiety-inducing chore.

Pocahontas: Something new you taught someone.

I like to teach my friends about grammar rules. It intrigues me.
