Sleep
Tear stared at the sleeping young man. He was so peaceful when he slept, she watched as his breathing slowed. His bright red locks framed his young face. He definitely had changed from Akzeriuth. Months had passed since then and their relationship had definitely changed. Tear turned the opposite direction on the bed so she no longer faced him. They didn’t often share rooms while on their journey, but this was one of the few times they did.
Luke yawned as he felt the bed shift, he reached over expecting to feel the warmth of his companion only to feel the blanket. He frowned and kept searching until he found her waist. He pulled her close against his chest and breathed out a sigh of relief. She was awkward when it came to affection, but Luke was okay with showering her in it. She relaxed and gave a small smile as he wove his fingers into hers laying them against her stomach.
They laid there for a few minutes before he could hear Tear doze off. Luke played with the hair that rested on her cheek, these were some of his favorite moments. He was happy they were becoming more frequent as their journey continued, although the closer they got the more he feared it would be harder to let her go. Tear shifted her body till her cheek rested against his chest. Her hair was everywhere and her mouth was slightly parted due to being so close. He smiled at her vulnerability around him. This always brought warmth to his heart, she was always on guard with everyone and it took forever for her to let go around him.
“Tear...” there was no response. He moved his arm to play with the hair cradling her face again. His smile returned as her nose twitched from the movement of her hair. “I love you,” he kissed her cheek. “So much more than I can show you.”
