Day 5. Strawberry Scent. - Oolong TeaTaxi
It’s good. Tastes like strawberries, and not too bitter. Miam.
Day 4. The recipe for happiness. Tea Taxi. Rooibos.
Day 2. One of a kind, green tea TeaTaxi.
Tastes a bit boring. Not really worth it for a green jasmine tea. Good anyway.
OMG they are so SMALL. Smaller than davids tea for sure.
Pretty great though, tasted like almonds!
Black Tea. energized awakening
Trying out a new brand of tea for christmas~ I was too late for the Davids’s tea one this year...and it was frigging expensive too (davidstea:24 teas for 40CAN$ vs teataxi 25teas for 25$-I got a deal since it was a bit late when I got it yeah!)
TeaTaxi
Website offers French and English. (Canada based) Price is in Canadian Dollar.
Be aware that the website is not as easy as the davids’ tea one. Hard to navigate to find some kind of teas-but it’s still easy to navigate. Trying to find their holiday collection was a pain... AND when you sign up you get a 25% discount, which is good. BUT be careful if you plan on just trying the brand out...shipping is stupidly high... Living in Canada, I good get the free shiping for any order over 50$, BUT if you do not...
SEE??? This is ridiculous..and when you only want to try a new brand...you don,t want to buy for 50$...what if the teas are disgusting?
Anyway, So yeah, I got mine from a pharmacy(?) for 25$ (online it’s 33) So yeah! And now, I’ll try them out~
Tea Taxi: Discovery Rainbow Box, Part One
Hello, Dezz here! ❤️
I'm beginning to realize that tea is becoming extremely popular, at least in my area. In the past few years not only did we get new Teavana and a David's tea, I also got a David's Tea pretty much right next door, as if that isn't enough temptation I recently discovered another tea company that seems very promising. They don't have an actual store but they do have little kiosques in all kinds of stores like pharmacy's. I was actually going to my local Jean Coutu when I saw the tea booth, to be honest I think I squealed.. The packaging is what sold me and made me buy their sample kit, it contains 24, 5g samples of all kinds of tea ranging from oolong to rooibos. The flavours were quite intriguing so I decided to give Tea Taxi a shot.
Orange Dream
This is the first tea of the sample kit that I decided to try simply because I really want to start drinking more oolong tea and it honestly sounded really good. As soon as I opened the package the smell of orange hit you, in a great way. The little package told me to steep it for 3 minutes at 90 degrees Celsius and that's exactly what I did, I tend to follow instructions even more closely when it's a new brand. The actual tea turned a cute orange colour when it was done steeping which was a nice turn of events given the name. The taste was certainly an experience, I don't drink a lot of oolong so the earthy flavour was really strong, like I was eating dirt. And the orange flavour was more of an after taste than an actual flavour in the tea, which is a little bit of a disappointment given the name, orange dream.
Raspberry Seduction
When I read the ingredients in this tea I was actually quite worried, cardamom, pepper and ginger hmm .... This tea is sure to be interesting. The smell alone was enough to make me quit on this tea but I had to try it, it smelled like straight up Dijon mustard, I even had my brother smell it and he said the same thing, you can catch a hint of raspberries but it's very faint. As far as taste goes it's the kind of tea that develops in flavour, at first it tastes like a mix of spices, the cardamom and pepper really stand out and then right near the end it starts to taste like fresh raspberries, really an experience. The spices in this tea really create a unique flavour paired with the raspberries, honestly I haven't tried anything that ever tasted similar. Overall it has a perfect balance, not to sweet, not bitter and has a great flavour.
Strawberry Moon
This fruity tea is absolutely delicious, a great mix of strawberry, apple and papaya. It has a great balance of fruits and tartness from the strawberries and not the mention the beautiful colour the hibiscus turns the tea. The only complaint I have is that it tastes to similar to other herbal teas, it lacks original flavour but overall it does taste good.
Coco-Cocoa Truffle
Usually chocolate teas throw me off, they taste less of chocolate and more like cocoa powder, like the kind you would put in cupcakes, which is not something I really want in my tea. This black tea did surprise me though, It has an honest chocolate flavour with hints of coconut making it a real treat indeed. The honeybush in this tea added extra sweetness making it a satisfying dessert tea without the gross cocoa powder taste.
Cosy Blanket
Now the ingredients in this tea are listed as: Ginger, hazelnuts, coconut, almonds, pineapple and papaya but all I can taste is ginger, put liquid ginger in my cup and that's what makes up this tea. If you are really paying attention to the flavours you can catch a hint of a nutty after taste but its so weak next to the ginger taste. The only way I can see this tea working is near the holidays perhaps as a tea latte but other than that you really have to like ginger to like this tea.
That's a wrap for part one of the Tea Taxi discovery box, so far the flavours are all original and very promising I can't wait to discover the others, part two should be uploaded soon!
Have a Tea-tastic day!
