TECH 3 SIGNS HAFIZH SYAHRIN FOR 2019

New comer in MotoGP this season, as a replacement for Jonas Folger, Hafizh Syahrin is making an impression and getting the spotlights more onto the malaysian riders. Hervé Poncharal, Tech 3′s team manager, whose team will end years of partnership with Yamaha to join the rank of KTM, liked it so much he put a ring on it for 2019!

Hafizh Syahrin:

“It’s hard for me to say and to believe. First of all, I have to say thank you very much to Hervé for trusting in me and giving me this opportunity to stay with the Tech3 family and at the same time to join the KTM family. I also have to express a huge thank you to my manager Dato' Razlan, who helped me to achieve this dream arriving in the MotoGP class, plus thank you to KTM for believing in Hervé and in me. I will work hard for 2019 and I’ll be better prepared, as this is not as surprising as this season. I’m incredibly happy to get this chance, I even feel close to cry for joy. Thanks to everybody and especially to Hervé and Dato' Razlan for always believing in me.”

Hervé Poncharal (Team Manager):

“Today is a very special day for me and for the whole Tech3 team! Since Hafizh jumped on our MotoGP bike, it’s been like a dream, every single day, because he’s been very fast and a lot faster than some people were thinking and we’ve been very proud of what he did. I know it was a great achievement for a Malaysian rider to be the first one of his country arriving in the MotoGP class, for his first ever MotoGP race, he scored points and since that day he has been consistently battling for the top rookie spot and apart from that, Hafizh is a very special character. He is a very nice young man, very well educated, very humble, very respectful of everything, hard-working, wanting and wishing to learn a lot, which is what he is doing and a very funny guy, too, a fact I like a lot. Everybody who knows Tech3 a little bit, is aware that I always consider my team my family, I always try to have this family atmosphere in the garage. Hafizh fits in very well and he makes everybody laugh. From almost day one we started to work with him, I wanted to give Hafizh a second year, because year one is important to learn, but the second year is maybe even more important to prove yourself. Clearly, for us all to move to our new project with KTM, where we have the insurance that the four KTM on the grid in 2019 will be the same evolution, it’s going to be a massive boost for Hafizh. He will be on the same machine like Miguel Oliveira, Johann Zarco and Pol Espargaro and this is a great challenge. I’m very proud to take this challenge together with Hafizh, always with the support of Razlan. I think we got the best rider, we could have picked for our 2019 line-up and I’m quite sure that Miguel Oliveira and Hafizh Syahrin will be a strong package of new talented and ambitious riders. Tonight, we are a happy team, because everything is clear and decided, so welcome for another year, Hafizh!”

Η KTM έκανε παρουσίαση στα επίσημα χρώματα των καινούργιων μοτοσυκλετών της για την επόμενη σεζόν, με τους Pol Espargaró και Johann Zarco ως επίσημους εργοστασιακούς οδηγούς, ενώ παρουσίασε και τις 2 μοτοσυκλέτες της δορυφορικής της ομάδας, Tech 3, με οδηγούς τους Hafizh Syahrin και τον Miguel Oliveira.

Η αυστριακή ομάδα έκανε παρουσίαση τα επίσημα χρώματα των καινούργιων μοτοσυκλετών της για την επόμενη σεζόν, με τους Pol Espargaró και Johann Zarco ως επίσημους εργοστασιακούς οδηγούς, ενώ παρουσίασε και τις 2 μοτοσυκλέτες της δορυφορικής της ομάδας, Tech 3.

Η παρουσίαση για τις δύο ομάδες πραγματοποιήθηκε στα κεντρικά γραφεία της KTM στο Mattighofen, Αυστρία την Τρίτη.

Η Tech 3, η οποία έχει την Red Bull ως χορηγός, άλλαξε το μαύρο της με ένα μπλε, ασημί και το σχεδιασμό πορτοκαλί δεν διαφέρει από αυτή που χρησιμοποιείται από την Toro Rosso στη Formula 1 .

Η σχεδίαση της επίσημης ομάδας παραμένει σε μεγάλο βαθμό αμετάβλητη.

Η KTM θα ξεκινήσει για τρίτη πλήρη σεζόν στο MotoGP στο Κατάρ στην έναρξη της σεζόν τον επόμενο μήνα

Η δορυφορική ομάδα, Tech 3 θα έχει οδηγούς τον Hafizh Syahrin και τον Miguel Oliveira.

Yonny Hernandez set to step in at Sepang test at Tech 3

The Columbian Yonny Hernandez will replace Jonas Folger at Monster Yamaha Tech3 for the first MotoGP pre-season test at the Sepang International Circuit, kicking off this week. Following the announcement that Folger has to sit out the entire 2018 campaign due to his continuous recovery, the 29-year old Hernandez takes over his Yamaha YZR-M1 for the three days of testing at the Malaysian venue, bringing five years of MotoGP experience. The Monster Yamaha Tech3 team intends to reveal a permanent replacement ahead of the second test in Thailand, mid-February.

Yonny HERNANDEZ “First of all, I have to say, that I’m sorry for Jonas Folger. I hope he gets well very soon and back on track again, as he is an incredible fast and talented rider and I want to wish him all the best. At the same time, I’m obviously happy for myself to get such a fantastic opportunity riding a MotoGP bike again. I’m delighted I can do the test and work with a very good team and machine. I’m truly curious to ride a Yamaha bike, because in all my career I was sitting on a Ducati. I want to thank the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team and especially Herve Poncharal for giving me this unique chance.”

Hervé PONCHARAL Team manager “Before starting to talk about who will be on our second bike in Sepang, I would like to express one more time how sorry and sad I am, not having Jonas Folger with us in 2018. Having said that, we have to try to overcome this situation the best way we can and everybody knows it’s not easy. On the 20th of January, almost everyone with the required level is already under contract, therefore I am very happy to have found out that Yonny Hernandez was so far without a contract. I know, that he has got some plans and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Pedercini letting Yonny test with us and give him the opportunity to show what he can do on a Yamaha M1 MotoGP bike. I am pleased to give him this possibility to test for three days and with it giving him the chance to show his potential to both, Yamaha Motor Corporation and the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team. Yet, no permanent decision will be taken before we fly back from Sepang. For sure, we will analyze in detail how Yonny performs during this test and obviously, he is one of the riders on our short list for 2018.”
