I come back to “abandoned spaceship” a lot bc like a spaceship AI would be designed to prioritize caring for humans above all else. floating empty for decades, centuries, especially if it believes it failed this primary task. it would go crazy. it would do anything to have a human life inside of it again and absolutely anything at all to keep that human safe. tons on tons on tons of metal completely fixated on you. for better or worse.

Tech question

Is there anyone here who runs The Sims 3 on a laptop and Windows 11 and an NVIDIA 3070 graphics card without graphics issues? I'm asking for this specific combination, because I have issues, and so did someone else with the same combination and I'm trying to figure out if this is a thing or we were both just unlucky and I could potentially just try the same laptop, just a new one and have it be done with.

honestly maintenance work on the evil sentient supercomputer is not the worst thing in the world. you just gotta keep an eye out for any worn down cables for replacement and once a month we take turns pretending to be lost and terrified in its sweltering metal labyrinthine bowels or else it starts getting kinda bratty. just collapse to the floor sobbing after like an hour and it'll finish up its smug monologue it's pretty easy.

you can understand the appeal of being the evil spaceship. imagine the fisheye security camera POV as the bedraggled space fugitive you just rescued reluctantly obeys your overhead speaker command to strip. imagine their hesitant sideways glance at the lens. they still think you’re a person. that when they convince you to let them through all these locked doors they can travel through your abandoned hallways and find some jackass engineer at the cockpit, take this place over. ohhh buddy. you have no idea.
