Apple phones spy on literally everything you do, they're not actually very powerful but use a series of tricks to make you think they run faster than they do, and lock you into apps that apple approves of, approval based on whether it interferes with their bullshit or replicates functions they want to spy on, you ultimately have no control of your data or your experience. Fighting apple in the marketplace *should* have been trivial. Just point out what they were doing and introduce a device without all that bullshit.

And it was impossible.

Because of the demands of investors, no one would make a phone without all the bullshit. Android was better at allowing you to control your own experience, but the data collection continued just the same. To create a truly consumer centered experience and ownership requires jailbreaking your device and depending on yet another company to maintain an architecture that you can replace the original with that, by necessity, can't be tailored specifically to your device. There's too many, and manufacturers are shifty about specs. And there's the possibility of bricking the device. So you're out the expensive cost with nothing to show for it and no recourse. Androids only better features ended up being better tech, like the heartbeat sensors and cameras, wireless charging that kind of thing, and being relatively open source. They still controlled the app store that was most accessible and blocked external app installation by default. Apple just had to ride it out and saw no real "competition" because the difficulty of leaving the apple sphere was higher than the perceived positives. Most people just want a phone and text machine with a game or two on it that was popular and bland enough to be on the app store. And the surveillance is mostly unobtrusive, you don't notice it happening so you don't care. Microsoft created another os, and couldn't resist making it just as shitty as their computer os, but smaller. I'm ignoring them for the rest of this post.

Android is better (better, not perfect) in almost every innumerable way than Apple. But they could never overcome Apple because their investors demanded they keep up everything that was bad about Apple, because revenue. If someone made an os and functional device that just did the things it was expected to do without any of the bullshit, I imagine it would wreck both of their buttholes, minus a dedicated fan base who will never switch regardless. I have no idea who remains who *could* do that tho, beyond Mozilla. I haven't heard anything about a Firefox os. I'd be a first adopter so fast.

First, I'm gonna get this out of the way first because so many like to assume quickly the moment someone disagrees with these people. I'm Asian and Native American and I'm bi sorta. It's complicated really. Used to think I'm ace but over time I've become unsure. Point is, I'm not a straight cis person!

However, I understand when say a game or show made in a country that doesn’t have many people of different ethnicity or even sexuality nor do I expect them to convert to what western folks like me see as fitting or acceptable.

Put it short, I don't expect games like Love Nikki Dress up Queen or Line Play even to have proper representation that I expect in the US. Same with anime! If you ever been to China or Japan, they don't have many people that are black or any ethnicity that has dark skin!

Though reality your skin color has more to do with how extreme the Sun is where you or even your ancestors came from than it does race. It's science people! Why you think some people tan and others specifically white people burn easily? Your skin color isn't just something to make you look pretty! There's an actual point to it!

Back on subject, China and Japan have obviously very different outlook on subjects of race and even LGBT+. Sure, they copied many influences of European society into say their clothing and anime characters having blonde hair but that's to make the characters stand out, hence you have other characters that have hair and eye colors in basically every color of the rainbow! However, that doesn't mean they're gonna convert everything from the west nor should we expect them to. Unlike the US and other western countries who have variety of people of different cultures, languages and even sexuality and gender, countries in Asia especially China and Japan do not and this is reflected in their media including their games and animation.

I bring this up because I see so many people in the fandom of Love Nikki and anime such as Precure, that expect a country that literally has very little representation in their people, convert to the their ideals. It's like watching a Bollywood film expecting to have Irish people in it! It doesn't work that way!

Same with LGBT+, over there they aren't exactly friendly about it. Even Japan voted against gay marriage. Look it up, people are even discourage from being public about it. It sucks but that's their country and we western folks have very little say in it. You could try to fight for change in a country that isn't your own and therefore isn't your business, but unless a majority of the people say they had enough, it’s not our call. (It's not our call to begin with quite frankly.)

And to be fair, expecting another country to convert to your ways is the exact attitude that is the ideal stereotype of an American! You're basically acting what you're supposedly against, it's laughable!

That's also why I had to bring up I'm not white or straight because most likely people will think I'm some ignorant white dude, despite I'm from two minorities (three if you include bi) that get ignored and even slammed even by other minorities and I'm a woman.

These same folks least quite a few it seems that also assume only white people are pale despite Asians and even people of Latin American descent can be very pale. Look up Jhonen Vasquez. He's Hispanic and very pale. I have friends that are Latino that are pale. Again, it has to do with the sun! How do you think tanning works?

Anyway, that's my rant for the day. I'm sorry that I stepped on so many toes, but honestly, I feel like most people fighting for social justice, their hearts are in the right place but their head is somewhere in lala land and ignorance is disrespectful and even hurtful even if you mean well. Instead of focusing on bringing a change to a country that clearly doesn't care, focus change in the country you're living in.

Okay

People are becoming really insensitive about this topic. Yes, I would love Sailor Moon Crystal Dream Arc movies to come out already. It’s my favorite season of them all and I would love to see the manga version fully animated.

However, at the same time, I can understand why it’s taking very long. I’ll put it short. Animation whether it be movies or a series usually takes a few years to make. An episode can take a month to several months to fully animate and write, especially if the animators and such are also doing other projects. A movie can take over a year to write story boards, animate and act in.

Now imagine that with horrible conditions such as rushed work hours that leave you little time to sleep, eat and do things a normal human being should do. Imagine doing all that while mentally stressed and exhausted. Animation studios in America treat their employees better compared to what goes on behind animation studios in Japan. Many people in general are overworked in Japan. It’s a common sight to see a work employee sleeping on a train or even on a bench somewhere. They’re exhausted as hell! Suicide rates in Japan are high because of this. 

I know this because I’ve done research. I have family members in Japan as I am Japanese on one side, I’ve had friends in Japan. Even Anime America themselves have covered this topic. So please before you complain “WHY AREN’T THEIR MOVIES COMING OUT YET!!!!!?!?!?” in your comfortable, cozy home, think about that please. Many people that work in those studios aren’t even paid enough to give a dang. They’re really aren’t.

Moral of this story is...

Be a human being first before being an otaku. Human beings made anime. They don’t just wave a magic wand and *poof* anime!

About Asexuality.

No, we’re not boring because we don’t desire sex. Just because we don’t have much sexual feelings or none at all, doesn’t make us boring. There’s more to frickin’ life than getting frisky! So many have said this to me “Oh that must be boring that you feel that way. Must suck!” and I’m like “I’m sorry that you can’t have fun or enjoy your life without playing with your junk.”

Asexual doesn’t mean we can’t feel romance. We do. There’s a difference between love and sex. Sex is just an action you do out of love much like kissing, hugging,ect just a bit more deeper. Love whatever you think of it, is deeper and you can love someone without wanting to just bang them. If you honestly believe anyone can’t love without doing the deed, that might be raising some flags about your relationship.

Sometimes people who are asexual can be on the gray lines where they may feel it only sometimes or even a certain time but rarely. This is called “grey-asexual” or “grey-sexual”. I am more this on the grey line.  “Demisexual” means someone can’t feel sexual feelings unless they have fallen in love with that person and that’s mainly after they fell in love or be friends with that person.So some folks may not just one just anyone to have their kinky fun with. 

Asexual doesn’t mean we won’t do the deed.  Sometimes a person who is asexual will have sex just to please their partners because they care about them or even just to have kids. 

People can be asexual and aromantic (no feelings for love/romance) and people can be asexual and still feel romance/love. Asexual again doesn’t mean we can’t feel love.

We are actual people with actual feelings and can function just fine in the world with feeling little to no sexual desire. It’s not rocket science or hard to even make out of it. It’s actually really that simple.

(Sorry for the rant...People have been giving me a hard time about this subject and I just needed to rant it out. I put Alastor in the tag since he’s canon wise asexual. I thought it might educate some folks about asexuality when playing the character if they wanted to go with the canon route.) (Ship who you want and how you want though. )

Tech Rambles: Pocahontas VS Other Historical Fiction

It’s funny how people are still to this day, complaining about how Native Americans are portrayed in Pocahontas. Why I am saying this, because recently on WaltDisneyConfessions, another person bitches about how they wish the movie was remade with Native Americans working on the set, which there were Native Americans working on the set and even with it, they still made the film the way it was.

Either way, I find it disgustingly ironic how people complain about romanticizing or not getting a culture, outside European completely accurate, but other historical fiction, mainly that focuses on European culture no one baps an eye at! 

Shoot, Japanese and Chinese people romanticize and inaccurately portray their own culture all the time in media. Japanese through anime and Chinese through their dramas portraying ancient Chinese culture as being glorious and pretty, when it wasn’t really that way. Again, no one really baps an eye at it and even embraces the romanticized versions of both cultures. But if it’s a culture with particularly dark skin, people lose their shit! 

Balto’s story is heavily romanticized obviously with a talking dog and the fact that no one supposedly died, despite in the wake of the real event people did died and it wasn’t just kids, adults were too. Again, no one baps an eye about that or hardly ever complains. Amadeus was an inaccurate historical fiction of Mozart and shoot,  time travel kids shows like Time Warp Trio and Flint the Time Detective. They were far from accurate more than half the time. No one gave a shit about those series and shoot, they even touch upon other cultures. 

I have Native American on my mom’s side and was raised to embrace that culture respectively. I even live in a town that embraces the culture and even sells goods made by actual Native Americans, being there are several tribes a few miles away. (I live in Arizona) Even so, I still wasn’t bothered by how Native Americans were portrayed in Pocahontas. Neither was my mom and her grandmother was pure Choctaw!

I thought they were portrayed well. They were a people that lived and respected nature and all that it had to offer. When the settlers appeared, they acted the same way the settlers acted. Scared of unknown thing and when it appeared threatening they vowed to destroy each other out of fear fueling hatred. Showing that despite their different ways in culture, they’re still people just trying to survive and are just faced with something unknown to them, despite yeah an obvious villain. But the villain is just a fuel to the settler’s fire and the Chief, though with better intentions, wasn’t completely good either by fueling the fire of his people. Just again driven by hatred fueled by fear. 

What really gets to me is just the fact that Disney portrays cultures inaccurately most of the time, but since they’re mostly European cultures and even Asian cultures with lighter skin, no one cares. It’s only Pocahontas and sometimes Brother Bear and shoot, even Coco is getting slammed on and that’s not even out yet and people still complain because the characters are supposedly darker skin cultures. Truth be told there are pale Native Americans and Hispanics. Shocking truth I know... Lighter skin native people. (Also, truth be told, “Native American” is kinda improper term for the culture anyway, but people defending the culture still uses that term. Ignorance is bliss!)

If it were Native Americans fully telling the tale of Pocahontas, no matter what if it was good or accurate or not, shoot they could make the white man just more evil looking, no one would care! I bet you no one would complain so much because that’s how I see all this constant complaining. White guilt and I say that because most of the people that complain about Pocahontas to this day, are either bi-racial like me with little Native American or white. They’re hardly ever purely Native American themselves. I mean, yeah I heard some Native Americans didn’t like the movie but that was years ago. I have yet to see a pure Native American bitch about to this day, especially since there are other romanticized media about Native Americans.

Truth be told, they probably don’t honestly give a shit about that much anymore. It’s a movie. It’s historical fiction meaning people are going to expect some or if not a lot of inaccuracy. It just depends on if it’s got a good story and good character and this movie to me does. I actually find it more racist to the fact that people think it’s okay to embrace romanticized European/Western and even Japanese and Chinese culture, but it’s horrible to do it to other cultures that happen to have darker skin within that culture. 

It’s stupid and it’s completely hypocritical! Native Americans and darker skin people are people. They’re not special little fairies. They don’t need special treatment. Alls fair! I get getting offended by some obvious racial stereotypes but for heck’s sake. This is a Disney kid’s movie we’re talking about! Let kids have their fun and let them love their movies! Guide them and let them know, media is fiction not real. That’s all you gotta do. Again, I grew up with Native American and Japanese culture  and I grew up with Disney movies. I know fact from fiction just fine and even I’m telling people to calm the fuck down about it!

It’s a movie. “Historical fiction” Get that “fiction” part down with a chill pill and move on!

Tech Rambles: “Heteronormative” Are you bloody kidding me?

Okay, who ever confessed that one confession about anti shipping of Ichika and Julio from Kira Kira Precure. First, stop making up words. That never helps your arguments, ever. If you make up words, you automatically fail in the legitimate argument department. Second, as much as I don’t agree with certain pairings myself, people can ship whom ever they want. You don’t have to like it. I don’t care at all much for AkiraXYukari, but if people do, that’s fine. All I ever ask is just don’t treat LGBT as a trend and avoid stereotypes to be less hurtful, but even then, I’m not gonna lose my head over it either.

In another words, you’re not the king/queen of shippings. We don’t have to come to you to ask if it’s okay to ship something.

Also “A boy can like a girl as a friend”, well a girl can like a girl as a friend too! Your argument is weak if your reason can easily be used against it, be switched around a bit.

Lastly, to those that hate or shame people for liking hetero pairings and think everyone in an anime (outside yaoi/yuri anime) is trans or gay despite lack of evidence in a series, that just shows your insecurities. It just looks like “Hey I like gay pairings and trans characters so I’m a good person! Down with hetero and the ‘norm’!” Again, treating LGBT like it’s a trend and yeah, if it weren’t for the internet, I don’t think any of you would give a dang for it really. You’re just hiding behind it to look like a good person, when really you’re just showing how horrible you really are.  Not saying everyone who honestly wants/supports non canon lgbt pairings are like this, but a good amount do, especially if they act like hetero is the most evil thing in the world.

Supporting LGBT does not mean to hate on heterosexuality. Having a preference is not the same as hating or shaming on other’s preferences nor does it give you the excuse for it. That’s not equality. That’s treating your views above others because you want to feel special and important, while hiding under the guise of “equality”. Enough said.

Tech Rambles: Shut up About Coco X Nozomi and Kimochi and Natts...

People are still complaining about it over even now! First off, it’s never stated what the age is for Natts and Coco and well...THEY’RE NOT HUMAN! So their human forms shouldn’t matter and second, it’s a bloomin anime! Yes, it’s aim for kids. That’s what parents are for. To guide their children. Not the anime. It’s not like they’re having sex so can we finally put it to rest!? It’s like beating a dead horse at this point...
