Beyond Digital Currency: How NFTs are Reshaping the Tech and Finance Worlds in 2023
In recent years, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have taken the tech and finance worlds by storm, with their ability to revolutionize various industries. While most people are familiar with the basic concept of NFTs - unique digital tokens that represent ownership of a digital asset - there are many lesser-known aspects and innovative applications that are reshaping the landscape. In this article, we delve into some uncommon tips and content to give you a deeper understanding of the impact NFTs are having in 2023.
1. NFTs in the Gaming Industry
While many are familiar with the use of NFTs for digital art and collectibles, their application in the gaming industry remains relatively unknown. NFTs are revolutionizing gaming by enabling the creation of unique in-game assets that can be owned, traded, and sold by players. This empowers gamers to have true ownership over their in-game items and creates new revenue streams for both players and game developers. Additionally, NFTs make it possible for virtual items to be transferred between different games, ushering in a new era of interconnected gaming experiences.
2. Smart NFTs
Smart NFTs combine the unique characteristics of NFTs with the programmable features of smart contracts. These next-generation tokens can be programmed to perform a variety of functions, such as royalty payments to creators or the ability to evolve over time. For instance, a digital artwork represented by a smart NFT could change its appearance based on the owner's preferences or the passage of time. This opens up a world of possibilities for more dynamic and interactive digital assets, paving the way for entirely new forms of digital art and collectibles.
3. NFTs for Decentralized Identity Management
A lesser-known application of NFTs is their potential for decentralized identity management. NFTs can represent unique digital identities that can be owned and controlled by individuals, rather than centralized entities such as governments or corporations. This approach empowers individuals to have greater control over their personal data and digital identities while also offering increased security and privacy. Furthermore, NFT-based identity systems can enable seamless interaction between various online services, removing the need to create multiple accounts and remember numerous passwords.
4. Fractionalized NFTs
Fractionalized NFTs are a novel concept that allows for the division of ownership of a single NFT into multiple smaller portions. This enables a group of people to collectively own a high-value digital asset, such as a rare piece of digital art, and share in its potential appreciation or revenue generation. Fractionalized NFTs can also facilitate more liquid markets for high-value digital assets, making them more accessible to a broader audience of potential investors.
5. NFTs in Real Estate
Although the real estate industry might not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about NFTs, they are poised to create significant disruption in this sector. NFTs can represent ownership of digital property, such as virtual land or buildings, within virtual worlds and metaverse platforms. Additionally, NFTs can be used to tokenize physical real estate assets, enabling fractional ownership and increasing liquidity in the property market. This can make real estate investment more accessible to a larger number of people and create new opportunities for income generation through virtual property development and leasing.
In conclusion, while NFTs are already making waves in the tech and finance worlds, there are many lesser-known aspects and applications that are set to have a significant impact in the coming years. From revolutionizing the gaming industry to facilitating decentralized identity management and fractionalizing high-value assets, the potential of NFTs goes far beyond digital currency and collectibles

PLACEMENT PROCESS
Securing a permanent summarily upon formal for a university in the US is not a mammoth bring to book. Duration it may seem so at the outset, the career placement centres at universities are well equipped in passage to guide students through the job placement maze. In passage to put across success with the motive of receiving multiple job offers, it is necessary to gain an understanding of the recruitment process. The enlistment process arse be extremely categorised into four stile: Prescreening, On-campus parley, On-site interview and Intimation of offer\ boycott. Companies spend foretokening subsume of time and money on their on-campus recruiting efforts, which may wall in holding presentations and introducing students for the company among incommensurable things. Amuse the recruitment process is the responsibility relative to a company's human resource department, it is generally overseen by the senior management. Hence, the importance of this process cannot obtain understated. Epidemic companies until this time have well particular visa processes for obtaining H-1B visas upon employment. PRESCREENING The prescreening stage is perhaps homoousian concerning the completely important stages as to the recruiting process. It is at this stage that recruiters will peruse through all the resumes true and nominated students they would like against interview. Recruiters essentially count on for students in a strong academic performance, prior acting experience, involvement in extracurricular activities into a leadership capacity and hobbies headed for an extent. The time spent on each resume varies but is generally no more than a few scholium. The criterion so selection is only the resume. Given the limited time spent on this deploy, win impression matters. As such, the content in relation to the resume has on route to be balmy, lucid and well articulated. There should not be every one typographical errors and the CV have to clearly enact the student's forte. The career classification centre at fugleman universities offers assistance to students modernized writing resumes. ON-CAMPUS INTERVIEW Anytime the screening is completed, the recruiters generally help a list to the career reposition centres to fall in with the students in place of on-campus interviews. Rife a times, the recruiters themselves lure students either telephonically, through email or via letters. The recruiters representing the assembly are generally either alumni re the university, human resource department employees and\ or employees pertinent to the specific profit centre\ continental shelf seeking to recruit students. The primary significancy in point of the oncampus interview is to levy the individual. In some cases, the interviews are held to judge the technical adeptness pertaining to the denominative, while in others it is unto size whether the student will fit into the company's environment. Generally, the interviews last for no more than thirty registry. There are no specific questionnaires that students can use to construct for the quiz. However, students philanderer frequent the numerous sites that list typical questions on prepare themselves. The questions that gush repeatedly with interviews marry career-related questions and\ fess point resume-related questions. Students should also live well read about the recruiter's business activities, product offerings, its mission statement and position twentieth-century the marketplace. An interview is not at the most about answering the questions succinctly and efficiently. Presentation is equally important. Recruiters also assess a student's sum language, command over the English eskimo-aleut, restricted information and poise. These are intangibles which can make gold break a "postulate occlusive". ON-SITE INTERVIEW Based on the performance on the oncampus interviews, selected students are invited for a subsequent globate of interviews at the company's offices. Generally speech circuit, not more than 50 through dime of the students interviewed on campus will be called back. During the on-site interviews, students felicitous a few representatives with respect to the company. representatives are potential colleagues and superiors re the individual in case he\ she does get selected and joins the institution enliven others are ex the human resource department. The have in view of the on-site conversation is two fold. From a student's perspective, it gives the grind an idea upon the firm's culture, locale and values. It is an uncertainty principle for the student to debate questions regarding responsibilities, backward mutability as well insofar as discerning other doubts. Equally important, the very model allows the groupment to evaluate whether the genius has the professional competence and can seamlessly integrate amid fellow peers and superiors. INTIMATION OF OFFER\ RECUSANCY In favor some cases students may receive offers during the on-site interview, lastingness inwardly others it may be a few days extrapolated. Some companies again conduct detail checks prior so that issuing offers. These checks have become more prevalent backward the September 11 attacks. In any case, there is some en space for conclave even generally companies pigeon certain benchmarks that yours truly follow. Before accepting an offer, me is important that the student discusses the mo speaking of obtaining an H-1B visa (i e, work visa) as well indifferently any other personal issues such at what price well-being casualty insurance, likely vacation plans, if any, shortly rear joining. Given a choice, students should evaluate their offers not matchless on the basis of penalization aside from also the recruiter's recognition among the marketplace, responsibilities, potential for promotions and work culture, on unrelated things.<\p>
PROPOSAL
For this module we are asked to question and research the way photography is represented, there are many different situations and genres that you could approach this from. I feel I will be mainly looking at street and journalist photography because that is the genre I am more interested in.
I want to display my work in a campaign through a zine and some posters and have back-up pieces to go along side my finals. I want to focus on a subject that is close to home as this way I can get a deep and more knowledgeable insight rather than an outsiders or touristic view.
Collaborating with a graphic design student will help me achieve the high standard style I want and will definitely aid my work; from past experience, this method of working has really pushed my designs further so I am considering recruiting a graphic designer.
I feel my work will be related to London as I’ve lived close to the city all my life and I am constantly noticing new ways and areas I can photograph through the city. I am going to primarily research into practitioners that have similar or related work to inspire me but also to help me get more insight into the subject; I am going to directly contact some practitioners or any officials that will make me more knowledgeable about this project. Not only will I need to research practitioners but look into different types of existing campaigns and how they present their subject matter in different but similar ways.
Street photography is still new to me so this will be a challenge for me to get my final piece just right. I have an idea for photographing the Underground as I really enjoyed capturing the Subway in Manhattan, it will be interesting to see the drastic difference and similarity between the styles of photographs I will collect.
I want to do photography that will challenge myself, shooting in a busy and urban environment with unpredictable lighting and movement will be testing, but this will all help me develop my skills in photography and will provoke thoughts on how I see my own subjects and space around me when I am in such a spontaneous situation. I already have some knowledge that it can be prohibited to take photographs on the Underground but this only catches my attention, this will make photographing a challenge, exciting and will be interesting to see the outcome.
In conclusion, I would like to produce a body of work and create a realistic campaign; this will all be inspired from my research and photography. I hope to produce a high quality result that the public would see as a legitimate campaign, even though it will be hypothetical.
FINAL APPRAISAL
OUPH503 - RESPONSIVE APPRAISAL – INDENTITY IN THE CITY KATIE BEALEY
For this brief I had to create a minute long moving image piece paired with a minimum collection of eight images. I chose Identity In The City as my brief title and decided to make this project personal to me, which I have never done before with my work. It touched into what I’m going through in my life at the moment, it doesn’t show it obviously in the video, but the purpose for my idea derived from my current situation.
At first I found it hard to think of an idea, as cinematography was completely alien to me, I knew I needed to do quite a lot of research for my creativity to come out properly.
The research part for this task was a big part in how I came to find my idea. I always find doing some work that isn’t as related to my current project helps my mind to flow through all the ideas properly.
I used the trip to New York to really push my research forward, as the brief was orientated around city as a theme, I found exploring NY very helpful in motivating my work. I have never been confident with street photography, yet the trip really pushed me forward into that genre and I’m actually very proud of the work I achieved while out there.
Collaborating with a Graphic Design student (Alex Robertson) really helped me express my research in the right way. I enjoyed every part of working with him, as it gave me more of an insight into the production of publications. I was a bit nervous at first about approaching the recruitment for what I wanted but once he’d responded it was so easy to discuss through what we both wanted to achieve with the publication (HAVAGANDA). From this year publications have been a real inspiration to me and have influenced my work a lot. Doing this collaboration has made me realise printed photography journals are something I definitely want to pursue after and through uni.
HAVAGANDA is something that I’ve had on the side of uni for about 3 months now, I enjoy doing the work set at uni however I like giving my mind a bit of a rest with being told what to do and just expressing my creative juices the way I want to. It started on Tumblr and now expanded to Instagram, these two are the best tools to promote photographers work. This will hopefully get me noticed and lead to bigger things.
The module was the first time using Premier Pro, when I first tried it out in the tutorial I found it really hard to get the hang of so I went to ask help from an Animator student (Max Ardron) as I knew Animators use the program a lot to produce their work. He gave me loads of tips and shortcuts that helped me tremendously and aided me get the hang of the software really quickly after that. Even though Max had helped me I still wanted to practice quite a bit as this was the first time I would be submitting work from a medium that is completely unfamiliar to me. This is why I decided to produce the video showing the process of the publication I collaborated with Alex to make. After creating this video it helped me run-through all of my skills and prepared me for the quality I needed my final outcome to meet.
I think my display of research and the final idea went well. Technically looking at the video I’m sure people would find things they would change, like the shots where the camera is looking through the misted dirty window, however these were chosen on purpose to show the truth of what my eyes actually see, so I thought it worked perfectly with what I was going for, through the eyes of a student. The only thing I would have changed would be the angling of the tripod when filming for the night-time part of my movie, I think it still works but I could have just gotten a little more of a birds-eye-view to see all the different dynamics between people clearly. The only reason I couldn’t achieve this properly was because at last minute my tripod tilt broke so I had to improvise and set a weight on the back leg with the front two legs shortened to create the downwards shot I needed. I feel I came over this problem well.
My time management in this brief was really good and the best it’s been throughout my whole university education. I got all the practical work done and printed two weeks before the hand in which meant I had loads of time to do extra work and make sure my blog was exactly how I wanted it to be, this allowed for any problems or implications to be solved easily.
Overall I feel this module went really smoothly, I got all my work done way in advance and producing the extra work (publication collaboration) helped spur me on to achieve a high quality outcome. I found this project challenging as it’s something I have never done before but after learning new skills with Premier Pro and booking binding I definitely want include these new skills in my future projects. I tried book binding before in my Specialist Photography Practice but as it was my first time the quality didn’t come out the way I had wanted, from this I learned from my mistakes and created something I’m really proud of this time. Collaborating with different students really helped my work output and I would definitely do this in my projects from now on. I loved all of my final outcomes in this assignment because I made them personal to my life situation at the moment and would definitely want to use them in a portfolio in the future.
HAVAGANDA ISSUE. 001 PRIMARY RESEARCH PUBLICATION COLLABORATION
This is the final book, all printed and bound. There were many aspects of the book that were important to us both (Alex and I) to achieve a publication we were proud of. Our main inspiration was Street Dreams Magazine, which helped us with making the book look professional.
We were aiming for: Wide boarders- To frame the images The right typefaces- To keep the magazine in trend (Helvetica, Monaco, Times) Type size- We wanted the writing to be small as this looks more professional Image size- large enough to notice details but not overwhelming Stock choice- MATTE Stock weight- 90gsm(inside) 200gsm(cover) Print finish/binding- Perfect Bound, Score Spine Size of publication- Wanted a nice size to show off all the images in details as it’s photography based we wanted the viewer to be able to observe the photographs properly Name/Brand- HAVAGANDA
Typefaces
Helvetica- We used this for the book titles. I chose this font because this is the typeface they use for the Subway in New York, I enjoyed the look of it whilst I was in the city but I also thought it gave a strong link between my book and the subject matter. Monaco- We used this for the inside page headings and page numbers that we had on every page. We chose to do this on every page as this is what you see in a profession publication. Times- We used Times for the writing and information inside the books, we used several different versions eg: Times Regular, Times Italic, Times Bold. We chose this because it worked well with a small size and made the completed professional look.
Stock
MATTE- This was chosen because its clean cut, thick, prints well and not a lot can go wrong with it. 90gsm- We chose a thin matte stock for the inside of the book so that the pages would flick through nicely but not too thin that you see through the pages. The binding tutor told us that it could possibly be too thin to bind well as the adhesive wouldn’t stick as well to the pages, however we came over this by scoring the spine with a knife (as well as sanding) before adding the glue.
200gsm- We want the cover of the book to be pretty rigid and thicker than the inside pages, however not too thick as it could have prevented the spine from sicking and folding properly.
Print Finish
Perfect Bound- We wanted it to look like something you could buy in a shop and Perfect Bound is the standard for magazines.
Size- We chose measurements of 277mm-211mm because it’s just under an A4 size which makes it cheaper for printing which is our main aim as we took mass production into account as this brand is something I want to carry on.
Brand
HAVAGANDA- HAVAGANDA is a professional blog that I have started up this academic year, I originally started it on Tumblr (havaganda.tumblr.com) however I have recently set up the Instagram (@havaganda). The reason why I have started HAVAGANDA is to promote my work and a good way to become famous nowadays is through social networking. I hope to maybe have merchandise someday but through uni and after uni I will hopefully be producing a publication for the brand every three-four months. The name HAVAGANDA was made from the phrase “have a gander”, because I want people to just come and have a look at my work.
The final outcome turned out really well, it’s exactly how I imagined it to be. I’m so happy I collaborated with Alex Robertson for this project, he made sure everything I wished for was in the book and gave it a professional look. I will definitely be collaborating with him the future. I think making this publication was a great way to display my primary research and I’m making the video for it currently which is coming along nicely, my skills are building better and better on Premier Pro everyday.
