Cuddle Me!

Surprisingly, Remus was very fond of cuddles. Well, maybe not that surprising, with Roman being the same way. But after the split, and after Patton brought Roman with him and left Remus with Deceit, he couldn’t cuddle with his brother anymore.

Deceit wasn’t much of a cuddler. Virgil was.

But after Virgil left, Remus was back there he was when Patton took Roman. So the task at hand was to find somebody to cuddle him. Which is how he ended up here. In the Light Mind. With Logan staring at him with a confused look on his face.

“Might I help you, Remus?” Logan asked, closing his book.

“I, uh,” Remus started, twirling his thumbs around. “It’s silly, really..”

“Hey, Lo, where’s the--Oh, hey, Remus!” Patton said with a grin. “Whatcha need?”

“Remus was just about to tell me that before you interrupted,” Logan said with a hint of annoyance.

“Don’t fight, guys, it’s fine..I was just wondering if Roman or Virgil was around?” Remus asked hopefully.

“Oh, sure, they’re both in their rooms! Do you want me to call them down?” Patton asked.

Remus nodded. If all four of them were down here, that would mean four times the cuddles! Well, if they wanted to cuddle him.

When Virgil and Roman had come downstairs, Remus made the hand signal to Virgil that signified he needed cuddles. This was made when Deceit was in one of his grouchier moods and needed silence to think about something important. Virgil smiled a little bit, tugging Roman over to Remus with him.

“What--”

“Shut it, Princey, and hug your brother,” Virgil said, wrapping his own arms around the Duke.

Roman realized then what Remus was needing and did the same. Remus smiled, sinking to the floor and burying his face in Virgil’s shoulder. Patton, always down to cuddle, joined them, giggling. Logan sighed exasperatedly and joined them as well.

Remus smiled and laughed, happy that he knew he could come here for cuddles now.

I Will PUNCH YOU With FRIENDSHIP!

Remember how when a Side was lovestruck Patton would literally deck them?Well, that’s not something he can control. 

However, when a side is being down on himself, or when Thomas’ friends are doing the same, Patton gets a little....over-passionate. Mainly aggressive, but in that way where you don’t actually mean to hurt them.

Let me explain.

So, Virgil. Little ball of self-deprecation, right? 

He’s learned not to do that around Patton.

Patton slugged him in the arm once, hard enough to leave a bruise. Patton didn’t realize how hard he had done it until Virgil changed into pajamas and Patton saw a bruise. Patton profusely apologized, not meaning to hurt Virgil at all, but Virgil just laughed it off.

“Pat, c’mon, don’t get all upset about it,” Virgil said, pulling his shirt on. “You told me not to talk bad about myself anymore or you’d physically fight me. I guess you meant it. Besides, it’s not like you don’t already slug me a bunch because of the whole ‘lovestruck’ thing.”

“Yeah, but I don’t like hurting you!” Patton said.

“Seriously, it’s okay. I’m heading to bed, see you in the morning.”

During filming for a Sanders Sides video, Joan started to jokingly say that they were a fuck-up for not being able to read the lines to Patton right. Patton gave them the Dad Stare, and they stopped. For that moment.

When they did it again, Patton raised his voice a little in order to say, “I will punch you with friendship!”

Joan, who had never seen Patton remotely angry, got startled and jumped back. Thomas quickly resolved the issue.

“No, Patton, we’re not doing that!” Thomas said.

“They don’t need to talk bad about themself! They’re not a...A..”

“Fuck-up?” Joan supplied, stepping back up.

Patton nodded. Joan laughed a little bit.

“I’m only joking, Pat. I don’t actually believe that. If I was serious, I wouldn’t be laughing while I said it.”

Patton blinked, realizing that Joan had been laughing both times they said it. “Oh. Sorry.”

“It’s fine, Patton, just maybe don’t yell at me?” Joan said. “You startled me for a sec.”

Patton nodded, grinning widely.

Eventually, Patton figured out when people were jokingly talking bad about themselves and when they actually meant it. When they actually meant it, his urge to “punch them with friendship” was there, but he chose kind words instead.

Most of the time. 

Everyone shared knowing looks when Roman showed up to breakfast one morning with a black eye after a particularly stressful day for Roman. Roman laughed it off, though.
