Back fire. (aka Scheming part 2)
3 days.
3 days of wonderful dreams of justice and totally not traumatizing anyone.
Traumatisation? No no. Tommy would never let that happen. He could be a bit of a troublemaker at times, but this is a low he wouldn’t dare think of crossing.
Au contraire, if techno gave the brat a scare, it would prevent things from escalating even further! It was simply a little scare, nothing more…
….
Somehow, 3 days seemed to pass by very fast.
… Somehow, guilty thoughts passed through his mind that whole time.
“What if it went wrong?”
“...But why would it go wrong?”
---
The bell rang, and Tommy got up from his chair. Books in his bag, he took his steps towards the exit. He checked his phone. Right, he had about two hours until they met. Wonderful! He could indulge himself in some snack before the night of his life starts.
Spending time with Tubbo, sending a message to Wilbur to reassure him, receiving a call from- Techno?!?
“What’s happening, dude??” Tomy immediately asked.
“Hallo~ I’m actually surprised I managed to get it right first try, How are you tommy?”
“I-uh, Fine?? When did you get a phone??”
“Wilbur gave it to me as a ‘birthday gift’. I still have no idea how he thinks I can manage that thing but I couldn’t turn the offer down..” He replied, giving somehow more questions than answers.
“...Uh.”
“So, when is the fight supposed to happen? Just so I know if I should drink the potion before.”
“I- … WAIT YOU’RE GIANT?!?”
“Yep.” The small pride in the pink haired friend showed in his voice.
“... Next time I’m in your house, you gotta show me how you even unlock your phone.” Tommy shook his head. “Anyway, the fight is at around 7:30 at the entrance of the forest. I’m gonna lure him in, though.”
“Alright. I’ll be on time. See ya.” He cheered.
“See ya!” He ended the call and sighed. He could do this. Just a few more minutes to wait…
Thanks to the approaching winter, the sun was already set, allowing the cold breeze of the night to swallow the sky. He walked right up to the meeting spot, and closed his eyes.
Everything would be alright.
“Hey, Asshole!”
Tommy smirked before acting grumpy and turning his head, meeting that same classmate. “Hey prick. Surprised you didn’t chicken out this time.”
“Pff, you’re one to talk. This time you won’t have more than a few bruises.”
“Alright then! If you’re gonna make me scream, let's find a place where people won’t bother us!” he cheered before diving into the forest. a quick “Hey!” was heard before he was followed.
Tommy didn’t know exactly where his friend would be, and yet after a certain time, his throat tightened. Something about where they were was eerie. An unconscious part of him told him to not move an inch closer, and that’s how he knew. They arrived.
“Alright, you fucking dick, this should be a good place for our second run. Think you’re ready?”
The boy in front of him took his jacket and stretched quickly before opening his mouth. “Bring it-”
Something moved behind him.
He froze, looking behind for a second before giving his focus back on Tommy. “Bring it on.”
Something in the trees moved as well. Tommy tensed at the feeling that something was surrounding them. Knowing what it was however, eased his nerves.
“Oh, by the way. You know how you called your friends to help you beat me up since you’re a little pussy last time?”
He frowned. “I don’t think there’s a lot of rules in a school fight.”
“Yeah, yeah” Tommy shrugged, and more and more of the background surrounding them was shifting, giving the blond his cue. “Well I just thought that, you know, since there aren’t any rules… I could call a friend of mine.” He finished with a grin.
His classmate raised an eyebrow, looking around. He did not have more time to do anything when he felt something tugging his shirt. The boy paled before his eyes. Tommy chuckled.
“Ayup! How do?” he asked. And on the other side, nervousness turned to dread as a voice above him, loud enough to reach both ends of the forest if it tried, deep and dry answered with casualty. “Doing good! Doing good…”
Oooh this was good. The fun hasn’t even started and the prick’s eyes were already regretting his decision. “What… Wh- uh- wha-”
“So you’re the guy that got Tommy a black eye, huh?” He was poked on the back, and he fell forward, regaining his senses and scrambling away from what he now realized was a giant hand.
His breath sped up, and he whined and his eyes dared look up. Up and up, high and even higher until finally, barely below the trees, and blocking the moonlight, he saw a face, seemingly human if not for the tusks in his mouth and the scars he seemed to bear. When he could only choke on his words, Techno insisted.
“Are you?”
That brought back some sense into the guy, and he stattered. “I- I um- … I- He- Your friend started insulting me first!”
“That doesn’t answer my questions.” The voice replied, cold, impatient. The other was already biting back tears; As his face leaned closer, he yelled and continued scrambling back until a hand larger than his entire body grabbed his shirt again, actively freezing him in place. “And I am not going to repeat myself a hundred time so answer me.”
Tommy’s eyes widened as Techno’s voice dropped an octave.
“Did. You. Do it?”
He gulped. Damn, if Techno’s act was almost working on him, he couldn’t imagine what the poor boy was going through.
The voice was meek and wobbly, but his foe answered “Y… Yes, I did.”
Now back to his casual tone, he smiled. “Good, good.” He adjusted his pose to get more comfortable, and looked at Tommy who only grinned at him and nodded. Man, he truly was a genius.
With more carelessness Tommy ever saw his friend, he lifted the boy up, which earned a scream, and brought him to eye level, one at which he could see each shake of his body; each hesitant breath; and the absolute fear in his eyes, one that only appeared on one’s face who met an all mighty thing for the first time.
Techno would lie if he said he didn’t enjoy it still.
Oh well, now he got to see it again, and for a good reason, so it was a win win.
Now face to face, Techno smiled and declared while his breath moved the human’s body like a train.
“I was just making sure I was about to direct my anger at the right person.” He stated, and that sent dread down the guy’s spine.
He muttered something probably, but Techno simply cut him off with “So, let’s begin that second round you talked about.”
And wait, wasn’t that most of it?
Tommy watches his friend with a frown which turned back into a grin when he simply threw his classmate in the air, earning a loud genuine scream of adrenaline. He bursted out laughing as Techno did this a few times.
“Alright, I think that’s enough, Techno, the dude’s already scared shitless.” he washed a tear of laughter from his eye, before looking back at his friend.
Techno was still casually sitting, cheering up at the sight of the screaming human. After one too many throws in the air, he simply made him dangle by the leg.
“Aaahh, That’s just too much fun. You little humans are so easy to scare. I could just do that” He lifted his hand right above the ground, around 30ft in the air. Another screech made him belly laugh. “See? That’s just too easy.” He then went back to throwing him around a couple times, fidgeting with him, the boy was weeping.
Tommy’s smile deflated a little bit and he cleared his throat. “Techno, I think we’re good.”
But his friend’s focus wasn’t on him. It was on the human, with his contemptuous smile.
His smile completely fell off when he heard pleading.
“Please… Ug- Please, let me go…” He said, wobbly. “I’ll never- never do it again. Please-” and oh he was not keeping it together At All.
If Techno didn’t hear him the first two times, surely he heard that, right?
Why was his response another giggle?
“What? Come on! That was barely an introduction. You think it’d be over this soon? Don’t be silly.”
He brought his hand that wasn’t holding the human closer to the shaking form, and said. “But if you want to make it shorter, we can begin the main course already.”
Tommy frowned, and tried to call for Techno. But pleading and crying from the other guy made it impossible for his voice to come through. He gulped.
In a mockery, he put his fingers, ready to give a flick. He simply announced. “We gotta make justice for what happened, after all. So, on which eye did you punch him?”
The tremor depriving him of movement, he shook his head, biting back more tears. “Come ooonn~. Don’t make me choose.”
“I-I think the- … the right one?” He admitted, head limp before rising and meeting giant, unbothered ones. “Please, please I swear I didn’t-”
flick.
A yell echoed, and Tommy's throat tightened. He wasn’t supposed to hit him! Why was he hitting him?!?!?
He tried to tug on Techno’s pants, but was only sent a couple feet back, pushed by a hand who caught him before he could fall on the ground.
“Now that’s a decent starter.” He announced, lightly. “I hope you haven’t gotten blind. I’m just paying you back for what you did to Tommy after all.”
‘And you’ve already done more than enough!! So stop it!'
The voice was still shaking and tears were not rolling anymore, but the poor guy was curling on himself. “I-I ‘unno…. Ug- … Please- l’ease let me go. I promise I won’t do it again. Please.”
A hum left the other’s throat. And for the first time of the fucking encouter did he look at Tommy, who couldn’t help but tense under the contained and distant gaze.
“I don’t know. Did he hit you anywhere else, Tommy? On the ribs or the shoulder or the arm?”
Tommy’s eyes darted towards his classmate, who would definitely have a black eye for longer than him. He gulped, his mind racing with the obvious conclusion if he told the truth.
He shook his head. “Nope, he mostly did that big man. No need to push it further.”
Techno kept observing his friends for slightly too long, and he looked back at the tormented. “I see.”
“So now’s the time for me to have fun!” He cheered, and the human was back in the air with another scream.
Tommy gasped, before frowning. “Hey, Techno! I said enough!!”
Though his only response was ignorance. So he started punching the fabric, trying to get back his attention.
He stopped moving when Techno’s free hand came for him.
He hated his instincts, because he should have fought back and bitten him and tried to get him to stop. But the air was too tense for him to snap back to reality, and now he was caged between his hand and his chest. .
After two or three throws, a low rumble rattled him. Fingers wrapped around him closer, making him flinch, and the muffled voice pierced through.
“Oh, silly me. I forgot to eat before I came here.” By the sound of his peer, he was dangling the human by the finger, who only whimpered. “Did you bring anything on your way here?”
A shift was heard, probably to replace the human at the center of his palm. “I- I…. haven’t.”
The pauses were long, and the boy’s throat was tight. Another soft rumble and Techno’s voice spoke again. “Oh well, guess you’ll make do.”
A scream was heard, the voice moving and getting more distant, more high up. Oh. Oh what what the fuck what the fuck-
He gripped the wall of flesh blocking him, digging deeper and deeper as the screams of panic slowly grew him panicked as well. Surely he wouldn’t, right? He… He did say it was only legends- Is he still just bluffing? He has to be right?
The screams of panic were too genuine for Tommy to enjoy this bluff.
Something shifted, and the shouts died down, accompanied by a chortle that sent a quiver down his body.
“Aaaahh, nah, I wouldn’t. I don’t think you’d even taste that good.” Oh thanks god.
How did he seem so calm about it??
He tried punching the hand blocking him a little, hoping it would bring him back to reality and notice how he may have crossed some line.
It was unsuccessful, but he continued as he listened to the giant’s voice.
“See, something about you humans think they’re just above everything. Politicians, headmasters, CEOs or what have you, they always act like they’re above everything and everyone. But it just takes a little push to make everything crumble. And you know, a student who gets angry enough to get violent on the only principle that someone talks back to him… That does strike me as someone who thinks they’re superior.”
The giant’s voice lost all smiles and something shifted. Tommy’s legs gave up slowly and he found himself sitting, trapped within. It was dark, he could barely see the moon light between his fingers. It was pitch black, locked, without escape.
“So tell me, little human: Do you think you’re superior?”
He wrapped his arms around and brought his knees closer. Tommy shook his head slowly, while the human wavered a “N- no”
The giant was less amused, or perhaps it was just the voice getting deeper, but he seemed more cold by the second.
“How do you feel, then?”
Another waver. “I-I don’t feel superior I- I feel small-”
“I feel trapped.” whispered Tommy to himself.
“Right After all, you are small.” a shift, again. “Insignificant, even.”
“Do you know how easy it would be for me to make you do as I please?” The giant asked, and the voice was casual, quiet, taunting. “You are already scared to have me around, anything I said would be a command. If I asked you something, you’d do it, right?”
Tommy nodded softly. He heard whimper.
“Good, good. You would do aaanything I ask you to. I could handle you as I please, I could throw you around again, that was fun. Did you have fun?”
Tommy shook his head to himself, something close to a cry in his mind and ears.
“It’s not like it would matter a lot. Because at the end, You are all so powerless.”
And Tommy’s eyes finally widened, wet. And it was his turn to bite his lips, while the other was mute as it gets.
“You little humans are so fragile, so weak. See, I could just do that” A shift and a yell “And if I was any careless, I’d snap your spine in half. Or I could just turn you deaf if I wanted to yell at you. Do you want me to raise my voice, perhaps?” The giant taunted, and Tommy heard a faint “no”. Whether it was from him or no, he had no clue.
“You have no control over what I’d do to you. You can just watch, and beg for your minuscule life. Your whole life, in my hand. And I can do with it as I please. Do you know the possibilities of it all? The thousands of images going through my head, of all the ways I could just play with you?”
Tommy shook his head again. The giant did not see, nor care for his opinion.
"Every day, I get so many opportunities. To crush, to maim, to break, to tear apart. I could tear you limb by limb, wouldn't that be fun?"
Tommy shut his eyes. "It wouldn't. It really wouldn't." He heard himself say. But it was silly, as the giant did not hear, nor would he care if he did.
"And every time, I chose to be kind. Because I'm around people who deserve it. Who deserves kindness and care. But you?"
"I don't think you deserve my sympathy."
Tommy wanted to cry his heart out, tears spilling from his eyes. But a horrifying scream brought him back.
Tight grip, getting stronger and stronger as the human screamed at the top of his lungs, and that is when Tommy finally snapped back.
He took the deepest breath he could, and with all his will he called.
"TECHNO!!!!!!"
…
The struggle stopped.
Before he could even open his eyes, he was brought on the ground, the hand now behind and at his left. He seemed surprised. Surprised. Not even regretful.
With a shaky voice containing all his determination, he shouted back. "Enough! That's enough! Let him go!!"
And the giant didn't look angry, nor full of rage or guilty or shocked. No, his expression was bored. Which was even scarier.
He held his ground, keeping his frow straight into the giant's eyes, he felt an immense thumb caress his cheek, probably wiping a tear away. They both kept staring until big eyes looked at the ground with a scoff. "You're no fun." He stated, putting his prey delicately on the ground. Tommy didn't dare take a step yet.
"... Thank you for helping me." His voice barely shook. The giant wouldn't notice it.
Just like his entire being.
"No problem. That was fun." He cheered and got himself ready to get up. "Next group dinner is at Philza's, right?"
"Uh- yeah! Yeah."
"Alright, see you on friday then." And he got up, and he just left like nothing happened.
Tommy was stuck. 3 seconds, 5 seconds, 10 seconds until he snapped back.
He rushed towards the unconscious body, immediately checking his heartbeat and almost melting on the ground when he felt it. Breath, pulse, eyes, the boy just seemed unconscious. 'Just.'
He immediately grabbed his phone and frantically dialed up a 3 digit number.
The phone rang. And rang and rang, until finally.
"911, what's your emergency?"
"Hello, yes?" He heard himself sob. "It's my friend, he's unconscious. We're in the east of the woods, the moon is visible. Please, come fast."
MEL I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! The fearplay is so good and I love techno not realizing he’s scaring Tommy too. I cant wait for Tommy to have a talk with techno about what happened >:)
