Of course of course I love fearplay chase scenes that end in the tiny getting inevitably captured once they've been cornered or too exhausted/injured to go any further, but the part I'm really loving the most this fine evening is when the hand is coming towards them --
When the last thing you see is a shadow engulfing you completely before fingers are clamped tight around you, quick and unyielding in the giant's pursuit, not even allowing you to catch your breath as you're being hoisted into the air
When their hand was inches away from snatching you up before they hesitate, unsure, confused, but decide to carry on with the original plan of securing you in their hold
When the capture isn't immediate, instead the giant tries to calm you first with gentle pets to your head and chest, rubbing away tears or grime off your face with their knuckle, moving slow and deliberate so that it's not a shock when their fingers curl under you to lift you up, even if you still struggle
When the giant knows the fight is over, so they take their time in exploring you, teasing you, pulling at your limbs and picking at your clothes in order to get a reaction, especially if it's to rile you up further or feel how your skin flushes under their fingers
When they need to make sure all of your fighting energy has been dispelled, so their hand slams down on top of you to keep you pinned, letting you writhe under their palm until eventually you can only lay limp, and then you can be scooped up
When you turn away and squeeze your eyes shut tight, waiting for a rough capture, but it never comes...nervously peeking to see that the hand has stilled in its decent and instead draws back, rotating at the wrist to be palm up in a soft beckon to come to them on your own accord
When the capture is rough and quick. When the capture is one-sidedly playful. When the capture is unexpectedly gentle.
