He really was trying. It didn’t quite work, but he was trying.

Seeing Phil talking about the Cyberknife plans and Tommy saying Techno was the one player who was consistently working to keep the story going, I remembered a bunch of relevant moments and I just kinda zoned out and put this together.

Things Technoblade did/said in the Potato Wars:

“But I wasn’t farming potatoes for profit, I was farming them for honor, for glory.”

Potato War 1: “But what could I do? Farm potatoes by hand?” Literally the first sentence of Potato War 2 “So I was farming potatoes by hand-”

Technoblade trying to figure out how to defeat his enemies and his first two thoughts are Research and then Sabotage

He knew that the cost of finishing the potato wars instead of collaborating with Dream was hitting his next milestone (3 mil) and he still did it

He sold like all of this special items just so that he could sell them to buy fucking potato minions

“Whitelisted wha  do you want fro  me” 

He single handedly crashed the market price for potatoes

Bought an alt to infiltrate squid-kid’s anti-Technoblade guild

Named the alt “potato” in french

He says that he joined smp earth to throw off squid kid. Is this a joke? Does anyone know?? Like he would do that but also what the fuck?

Figured out that he could use his skeleton horse pet to trample squid kid’s crops but didn’t because he’s a good person it was inefficient 

Had over 5x as much productivity farming potatoes by hand as squid kid.

Not because squid is lazy, just bc Technoblade is a legend

Ah yes, the stages of escalation in the Potato War:

Research

Sabotage

Psychological warfare

Torture

Grief

Psychological warfare is allowed but bullying is NOT if you say something mean about squid-kid Technoblade will personally show up in your closet at night like a sleep paralysis demon

The amount of math and genuine usage of the scientific method in minecraft shouldnt be allowed

All I’m saying is that if you are a new Technoblade fan and you haven’t seen the Potato Wars you’re missing out on an incredibly important part of his channel and you should liveblog it because i want to laugh at your reactions

I find it so funny how Technoblade has a persona of a bloodlust warrior who has years of experience winning competitions and training himself to become better than the best. A scary strategist whose always 20 steps ahead and always comes out on top no matter the cost. Each move made carefully thought out but also being able to be efficient in a fight-or-flight situation even when he’s outnumbered. When in actuality, he’s just a tall, anxious, ADHD nerd who plays Minecraft. He never leaves the house, he has a bad cough, doesn’t work out, hates confrontation, and doesn’t have a healthy diet (consists of mostly takeout I think correct me if I’m wrong). The dude would lose a fight 100%. I don’t doubt how smart he is. He aced multiple AP tests despite not taking them, the potato war, buildmart mcc 7, mcu, and had a good gpa (I think it was a 3.9 again correct me if not). Then you get a story about his experience in Midwest and how he didn’t think it was that cold, his entire lack of self-awareness during mcc 9 sky battle, and didn’t realize the leaf blower man comes only on Saturdays until mcc 10. He has his moments of being a dumbass. Techno is always making fun of his friends in the form of cyberbullying, is a big sellout, and acts very aloof with his fans. However, you hear stories from people like Sophietexas, Phil, Niki, and Bad saying how much of a sweet and considerate guy he is off-camera. And he puts in the effort to use fanart in his videos and comment on fan music and animations. The disparity between his reputation vs how his personality is so funny to me b/c of how ridiculous it is. And it’s one of the many reasons why I stan him.

The recent stream was a payoff of c!Techno's "I am begging to trust people again, but this time I am careful with who I open up to" character ark, that traces all the way back to his retirement ark.

Not being grimm, or afraid, or smt like that, is not a missed opportunity for c!Technoblade. It is a celebration of how he now has people who he can trust so much, he is ready to go into an obvious trap, unarmed, unprepared (kinda). Because he knows that there are people out there who will help him.

Lighthearted doesn't mean meaningless.

It’s Technoblade appreciation time again!

I love how he interacts with other content creators.

Techno always has such a fun mix of making light of everyone (including himself) and supporting them, and it never feels like he’s really demeaning anyone. Sure he trolls Skeppy at every opportunity and makes fun of Dream’s house building and calls Tommy a child, but everything is done in such a lighthearted way and he stops if they don’t play into it.

Then he has sincere moments like complimenting Niki’s pvp and talking with Philza about how awesome Tommy is.

His interactions with people just feel very safe and comfortable to watch.
