🐺 "I had Excalibur bark up the wall in my room one time. Out of nowhere, for no reason. I mean, I couldn't see any reason. You think he saw a ghost or something?"

Despite the implication, Tempest doesn't seem worried or scared. He's resting his face in his palm thoughtfully, as if he's pondering over soccer results rather than the existence of ghosts.

Reach in the meantime, sitting at the table between Tempest and the other, is just quietly enjoying their burger. They really seem to enjoy eating food quite a lot.

🐺 Tempest has just taken another big bite from his croissant when he's realizing someone has approached him. He is instantly full of (the smallest) regrets for not having noticed them about three seconds earlier. His mouth still full, he tries to utter a few words.

"Hwf, wpfn—" Yeah no, abort that mission.

Tempest points up his index finger, indicating for the other to wait a moment as he frantically chews his bite before swallowing. And then he almost chokes on it. After knocking his chest a few times and getting over a round of painful coughing, he's finally giving the other a thumbs-up. And offers the biggest, goofiest grin he can muster along with it.

"Sorry pal, didn't see you there. So— what's up?"

🐺 Tempest chuckles at the other's commentary. 'Guardian Angel' huh? He leans back all casually against the back of his seat. And gives the other a thumbs-up. He's trying to appear as non-threatening as possible. "Nahh, I'm just doing their damn job. Because they can't be arsed to come down here and do the guarding. And someone has to do it, right?"

Would be nice if Guardian Angels were a thing. But Tempest has learned the hard way that he can't rely on wonders to happen. The least he can at this point do is to help giving others a better time.

"I pick up the poor souls thrown away by the corp like trash after they've been cut open in those— human slaughterhouses. Is that what happened to you too? I'm Tempest, by the way."

Tempest is a chatty fellow, to put it mildly. When Reach and Tempest are in the same picture, Reach lets Tempest do the talking, because Reach is actually not that talkative unless they have to be. So if your muse wants to get a few words out of Reach when both are around, they may have to tell Tempest to zip it.

See, Tempest means no harm. He realized early that Reach is a quiet one, so he happily jumps in for them when it comes to conversations. Though, ever since Reach told Tempest to shut up once when he got ahead of himself again, he tries to give Reach more space, at least. But usually, he's the one talking a storm out of the two, and Reach is usually fine with that too.

Tempest is also very fidgety. He doesn't talk and stand still, that just doesn't happen. He's shadow-boxing, jabs fingers into the air, is very dramatic in a theater kid way and overall very expressive and perky. The opposite of Reach.

Don't get fooled though, him cracking jokes and facing horrors with a positive attitude is his way of coping with the terrors around him and dealing with his fears. He is in fact scared a lot, but decides to face his fears head-on rather than walking away. That's how he does things.

It's hard to not like Tempest in one way or another, he's just that cool and nice guy, even if his antics can and WILL drive one up the walls. He is absolutely reckless and acts before he thinks. Which gets him into sticky situations a lot, but he's a survivor. He claws his way out of trouble, if he has to.

Speaking of survivor, he's a 'Disposal', which means the corp stole one of his organs and then disposed of him like trash. I don't think it is ever mentioned what organ was taken from Tempest, but since it is not something visible and not actively hindering, I'll go with a kidney here. I will edit that if needed though, should I have overlooked a detail.

I'd say biweekly, or at every given opportunity. Excalibur is a strong boy, so most of those toys don't last very long. Especially since he loves playing tug-of-war all the time. He comes running with a toy excitedly and immediately the tugging commences.

Tempest and Veronica have several toys and circle them out every week for Excalibur to prevent boredom (as it was suggested in one of those dog books Veronica got them), but sometimes he still shows up with pieces of clothing, much to their dismay. (Look, he got that husky blood, so he's a stubborn and unhinged creature at times).

But yeah, Tempest loves his dog a lot and when he sees a potential toy for him? Yep, it's his now. Same with treats. Excalibur is also extremely loyal to Tempest, Veronica and Reach by extension. You touch any of them and that boy is ready to throw paws.

Just some villain lore drop for when you write with my Reach and/or Tempest.

Commissioner Cole Carpenter is a high-ranked member of the Phoenix City's police. After his first encounter against Reach, he gets his arm smushed and is in the midst of an exploding generator. You'd think that guy is dead-dead. But they wheeled his remains back to the Phoenix Tower and brought him back into existence there through unethical experiments.

And with that, the Commissioner is no longer just a human. He is now a freak with a mutant-arm, moving at unnatural speed and capable of changing said arm into a monstrous claw. Reach is barely capable of going head-to-head against him in battle, less so any other normal human.

The Commissioner is relentless in his hunt. He is after Reach and Tempest, and if your muse is wanted by the police as well, there is a good chance he will be after them, too. He's an absolute scumbag, having no qualms in killing innocent bystanders to get what he wants. That's really all you need to know, next to him being unfortunately a tough nut to crack.

One thing that irks me a little about the plot of REPLACED is that the story plays in the past, but has loads of retro-futuristic stuff like flying cars. And don't get me wrong, I like the aesthetic and plots of retro futuristic alternate universes, but it does feel a little jarring to me in REPLACED for reasons I can't really pin-point. Sometimes it be like that, I guess.

So I play the 'it's my blog, my rules' card here. I am more inclined to set the story in the future. On my blog, there has been a catastrophe at some point that caused people to go sick in masses. There are imaginary presidents and imaginary politicians here. I find it much simpler that way, and there is more freedom to set up crossover plots too.

Everything else will remain the same though. The corrupt corporation, the organ theft, the secret experiments... and there will be still retro things in play, simply because trends come and go as we see nowadays too. Suddenly, Walkmans become the biggest shit again and buttons are preferred over touch-screens. Both can and does co-exist, and it does in my setting of REPLACED too.
