Onward two heroes bolt, clanging down the metallic floors of a corridor. Pokie charges, sensing out those familiar radiobands transmitted by her mech. Where could it have been taken? And another question…how? Boisterous shouting of guards coming in hot pursuit can barely cover the sound of the ensuant firefight.
“REX, I THINK ITS HERE- AH f- sh- ACCHK!”
…looks like she did not notice the sharp bend in the hallway, hardly adjusting her sprint in time and slamming her shoulder into the wall, her boot squealing on the floor as she slides. She quickly scrambles back to her mad dash, narrowly escaping a laser leaving a sizzling and smoking burn mark on the wall where her head was just a moment before. She is still reading the strong signal locating her mech… but…
“Hey, this hallway looks like… a recent edition,” she proclaims, noting the lack of scuffing on the floors compared to what it was on how-so-ever-far behind them. She begins to slow her pace. Compared to the passage before them, the light seems to be shrinking. It’s dark… Pokie completely stops.
“Wait… they stopped chasing us." She turns her head, taunting the guards, "HEY, YOU GUYS SCARED OF THE DARK-”
Her words halt on her lips as the breeze of some airlock-style door slams behind them. Strips of lighting illuminate the hall revealing it’s… actually a maze? So that's why they stopped... oh. Still wincing a little from her shoulder, she wonders aloud to Rex, “what’s this guy’s deal anyway?”
