Recap of Interviews with Companies

Hello dear readers! for this week's blog, we're gonna firstly know more about the 5 companies that we interviewed along side with my team, so now let us begin on our journey on becoming a Technopreneur. 1. REMAX The first company is REMAX. According to our interviewee Mr. Mark Madello, REMAX is a company that was built around 2021 that offers gadgets, technology essentials or gaming peripherals, it is located inside SM downtown CDO, SM uptown CDO, and SM lanang Davao as their main branch. REMAX don't have any incorporated companies.

2. BETTER components, Inc. Next is BETTER components, Inc. The manager we interviewed there is Mr. Reynan Cago, and according to him BETTER components is a company that starts around 1989 so this company is really old, this company offers pro audio equipments, so BETTER components has many branches like in GenSan, SM masinag Manila, Butuan, and in Davao is where their main branch is located it has many more but it is too many to include. BETTER components has different incorporated components like Yamaha, Bose, Poke Audio, and Marantz.

3. CameraHaus

The third company will be the CameraHaus, and we interviewed the manager Mr. Jason. According to him CameraHaus started around the pandemic era in 2021, this company's main offer is Camera and Accessories he also said that their most sold items are the DSLRs and the Digi cams. CameraHaus is also incorporated to different camera brands like Sony,Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, and etc. According to him CameraHaus has a total of 16 branches nation wide for now and their main branch is located in Manila, but in Mindanao their branches are located only in CDO and Butuan.

4. Bagel Girl Next is Bagel Girl, we interviewed one of their staffs Ms. Ziradel, according to her this company started in 2018, Bagel Girl main offers are jewelries and accessories, they also have free piercing and I think this is also very good so that it can attract more costumers. She also said that Bagel Girl is a sister company of Broadway Gems. Bagel Girl's branches are only in SM uptown & downtown and Centrio Ayala.

5. OUR | HOME And for our last company, it is called OUR HOME. We interviewed their manager there Ms. Almira Fernandez, and according to her this company started around May 2017, the main offers of this company is furnitures. This company is not incorporated to any other companies but she said that they have 34 branches nation wide but here in CDO they only have it in SM downtown & uptown.

WEEK8-Enhancing Crime Control and Resource Deployment in CDO City

The project suggested in the eighth week of the technopreneurship program is a multifaceted system designed to improve crime control and optimize resource allocation in the city of Cagayan de Oro. The system employs a combination of web and mobile applications, whereby the former acts as a dashboard tracker, while the latter fulfills the role of a location sender to the dashboard through the utilization of GPS pinpointing.

The surveillance system will facilitate the capacity of foot patrols to manually or, if feasible, automatically report their longitude and latitude to the system at twenty-minute intervals, enabling their pin location to be visualized on the map of the dashboard. The utilization of this feature will empower the PNP-COCPO to effectively monitor the precise whereabouts of their patrols in live-stream, consequently facilitating a more expedient allocation of resources towards the locations necessitating a heightened level of attention.

Incorporated within the system is a functionality that enables the presentation or visualization of the trajectory of criminal incidents on a daily basis within the various barangays of CDO City. The proposed analysis of crime trends will entail the utilization of longitudinal data, comprising the daily reports of criminal incidents or cases by barangays within the jurisdiction of CDO City. The present study aims to employ the method of time series analysis in order to examine the pattern of criminal incidents within each barangay.

The proposed system represents a commendable endeavor that seamlessly integrates technology and data analysis with the aim of enhancing crime control measures and optimizing resource allocation within the city of Cagayan de Oro. Through the incorporation of web and mobile applications, a comprehensive and real-time monitoring system is furnished, thereby facilitating the PNP-COCPO in rendering informed decisions and enhancing the efficacy of resource deployment.

The utilization of the trend analysis attribute can aid the PNP-COCPO in the judicious allocation of resources, contingent on the prevailing trend of criminal incidents per barangay. As an illustration, in the event of a barangay exhibiting a notable rise in crime incidents, the PNP-COCPO possesses the prerogative to assign additional resources to the locality with the objective of curbing future criminal occurrences.

In conclusion, the proposed multi-functional system presents a laudable initiative with the potential to elevate the safety and security measures available to the residents of Cagayan de Oro City. Through the employment of cutting-edge technology and advanced data analysis mechanisms, the system is capable of furnishing the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-COCPO) with detailed and all-encompassing information. This vital information, in turn, empowers decision makers to take informed and calculated steps towards the efficient allocation of resources, thus detering crime-related incidents within the city.

WEEK7-Deployment: An Insight into the PNP Challenge Project Proposal

The PNP Challenge project proposal aims to address the problem of the lack of a system to aid the PNP-COCPO in improving the city's crime control and efficient deployment of resources. The primary beneficiaries of the project system would be the PNP-COCPO and the residents of Cagayan de Oro City.

The proposed arrangement could be a framework that employments information focuses collected over time to distinguish wrongdoing hotspots and designate assets more successfully, coming about in a more secure and more secure city for its citizens. Particularly, the extend thought is to create a dashboard that shows the number of wrongdoing cases per day in each barangay in CDO City.

WEEK6-From Transport to Crime Control - Exploring a Solution to the PNP Challenge

After validating our idea with the Cagayan Villanueva Transport and Multipurpose Service Cooperative (CAVITRAMPSCO) last week, we made the difficult decision to drop the idea. We came to the realization that the transportation cooperatives cannot solely be held responsible for the commuting issues. Furthermore, the implementation of GPS tracking in our project would require a payment to Google Maps API, which would have been a significant financial burden.

We then decided to shift our focus to a portion of the PNP Challenge presented in class, which is "No System to aid the PNP-COCPO in improving the city's crime control and efficient deployment of resources (personnel & mobile)."The Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) has been facing a major problem in their operations. The lack of a proper system to aid them in their investigations has made it difficult for them to solve crimes efficiently. This issue has been prevalent for years, and yet no concrete solution has been implemented. The absence of a system to aid the PNP-CIDG means that they are unable to gather evidence effectively, track down suspects efficiently, and ultimately solve cases quickly. This not only affects the victims of crimes but also undermines the credibility of law enforcement agencies. The government must address this issue by providing adequate resources and technology to aid the PNP-CIDG in their operations. A well-designed system can help streamline investigations, improve communication between departments, and ensure that justice is served promptly.

In conclusion, we had to make the difficult decision to abandon our Bus Tracker App idea due to the limitations and financial constraints we encountered. However, we were able to refocus for it is imperative that the government takes action to provide a proper system to aid the PNP-CIDG. Failure to do so will continue to hinder their ability to perform their duties effectively and ultimately compromise public safety.
